I bring to you yet another simple story which is a love triangle. This idea came to my mind when i read discussions about bringing back Ridhima to do damage repair in RiKara story and this composition being on the lines of Ishqbaaz is quite different from the canon ... the Character of Gauri being Omkara's family friend ... more or less everything is the same ...
I dedicate this story to one of this forum's beloved RiKara writer @WriterGenie ... thank you so much for all your lovely stories Genie ... Amor Intermissuss and Hide & Go seek are my personal favourites ... and yesterday I realized that abhi toh Mauka bhi Sahi Hain aur dastoor bhi kyonki aap Goldie bann chuki hain! EPISODE ONE
She stepped inside the Oberoi Mansion observing how everything had changed ... all the interiors right from the tapestry to the furniture were redone. Something she had expected after all she had come back to Mumbai and to the Oberoi Mansion after eleven months, the last time she was invited to attend the ShivIka wedding. She had resolved to never come back to his place, to never come back to Omkara but when Dadi emotionally talked her into a visit exaggerating about her weak health condition, Gauri did not want to disobey with denial. Dadi was very keen that she will get to spend some time with Gauri. Gauri felt awkward about how her parents and Omkara's Grandmother insisted that she visited Mumbai... with no practical reason as such she came for a holiday to rejuvenate after a month long semester exams.
She received no special welcome because she arrived on a weekday and so everyone was busy. She met Dadi, talked to her for a few minutes and went to the guest room to freshen up. Tired because of all the After-Exam-Effects and travelling, her mind and body hit the snooze button for four hours.She woke up feeling light headed and calm. She helped herself with a tour around the house ... found Rudra performing calisthenics in his room, Shivaay busy with his lawyer in the study, Anika making aloo poori in the kitchen and Jahnvi busy with some guests in the hall. Even with her self -promise of not seeing him again, she had a frantic urge to know and see where Omkara was ... Heart and habits appreciate no restraint.
"Aunty, Omkara kaha hain? Gauri hesitantly asked Jahnvi after gathering every bit of guts from every moral fibre of her body. This was taking too much effort on her part.
"Beta Om Outhouse mein hain ... Kuch kaam kar raha hain. Jahnvi told Gauri.
Anxiously she walked towards the outhouse. She felt different, she felt weird. A part of her was so excited to see Omkara after eleven months and nine days and a part of her was so nervous not wanting to face him, what if he realizes the truth of her uncompromising one-sided love for him? Gauri and Omkara have grown up together studying from the same school and attending functions in the same social circle ... they had to be close friends because their familial bond was tight knit. She was never able to grasp about what he felt for her but she was sure that she loved him ... hopelessly.
Many of his memories winded back in her mind as she took small steps across the lawn to reach the outhouse. He was her first teenage crush, her first secretive love letter and the first reason for her body to experience sexual tension. She had seen him rise through a wrecked relationship of his parents, grow indifferent about his choice of career and make intricate efforts to become a gentleman that he is now. She fell in love with his maturity. She remembers how she had planned to confess her feelings to him after the ShivIka wedding rituals were over and that was exactly the time ... he officially announced his relationship with Ridhima.
She felt empty thinking about Ridhima and Omkara and with that she got a reality check that no matter what Ridhima is the lucky girl ... Om promised to love for a lifetime. She was furious with Om and envied Ridhima for quite some time but then was wise enough to admit that Ishq Pe Zor Nahi...' what if she chose to love Omkara ready to give away her life, Omkara chose Ridhima as a life partner
Gauri was about to knock the door of the outhouse when she heard a menacing sound, she could hear glass pieces shattering. Frightened, she pushed open the door to see an irate Omkara losing control over his senses and creating disaster in the arrangement of the space. She knew it was very rare that Omkara Singh Oberoi expressed his anger and with that she knew his anger was lethal ... scarier than his fit of temper was the way he was hell bent on hurting himself, the blood dripping down his palm forced her controlled tears to roll down her cheeks ...
"OMKARA ... She screamed with all possible might. He had to stop; she did not want to see him like this.
"GAURI ... Her name escaped from his mouth in absolute disbelief and shock
"What the hell you think you are doing? She cursed him in the highest decibel possible.
"Main Paagal ho jaaunga Gauri ... Main tang aa chukka hoon Mr. Oberoi ki ghatiyaan harkatein bardasht karte karte ... Om said in a beaten tone. Gauri was crushed by the way he accepted emotional defeat, this was not the first time she had seen such version of him and hated it all the more.
"Dimaag kharaab hain aapka! Mr. Oberoi ka naam japte japte maansik santulan bigad gaya hain aapka ... poor eke poore baura gaye hain. She continued shouting at him and then slapped him tight straight into his face without wasting a moment ... he stared at her in disbelief while her eyes kept throwing daggers at him dangerously ... before he could say a word, she stepped back and ran away.
Gauri received some welcome gifts at the dinner table and today all her favourite dishes were served on the platter. All of them conversed with her about different matters, they were happy that Gauri had come for a visit. Seeing everyone so cheerful, Gauri tried to be happy but the only name hammering her brain was OMKARA ... she had not seen him since their outhouse encounter and his state of mind maniacally stressed her. She helped Anika at the dining table serving everyone and turned to hear Omkara's grumpy voice whcich came announcing ... "Mujhe khana nahi khana ... bhook nahi lagi! Everyone sighed sadly recalling the early morning Father-Son tiff. Gauri felt miserable as he walked away. Standing still for a few moments, she could feel how her hunger died, she kept back the serving bowl on the table and began to walk away when Jahnvi called for her ...
"Gauri beta khana kha lo ... Jahnvi instructed.
" Aunty humme ek urgent phone call karna hain... Gauri lied politely and left.
She gazed at the night sky and the moon proudly bright, sitting in the lawn occupied by his thoughts ... he left the dining table two hours ago and there were no signs of him. she just wanted to make sure that he was at peace with his mind ... the tear soaked pillow and the untouched plate of food being her room witnesses.
" I am Sorry ... Om apologized as he sat beside her. She looked at him expressionless and then looked at the stars.
" Mr. Oberoi chahte hain ki main apne company shares claim karu, he wants me and Shivaay to break apart ... Omkara confessed the reason of his wrath.
"Woh jo bhi ho ... aapko itna gussa kis baat par aayaa, unhone pehli baar toh aisa kuch nahi kiya naa... aav dekha na taav tandav karna shuru kar diya ... JATADHARI! He chuckled while she scolded him
"Gauri mujhe pata hain ke jab main koi bhi gadbad karunga toh tum mujhe ek jhaap lagaake sata hi dogi ... par please agli baar zara dheere se thappad marna, mujhe bohot zor se lagi ... he pouted and she wanted to giggle bu she controlled ...
"Gauri baat karo mujhse .. He asked looking at her balloon like face.
"Humme aapse koi baat nahi karni ... aap jaaiyye yaha se, jaake sheeshe todiye ... khursi table todiye , yaha humaare saath time pass karne ki koi zarurat nahi hain! She blabbered.
"Woh Hain Zara Khafa Khafa toh Nainn yun Churaaye hain ... ke hooo hooo ... He sang to her while her bodily defence mechanisms started giving up she got up to leave only for him to grip her wrist ...
"Soch lijiye saahibaa, aapko manane ke sauu tareeke jaanta hoon main! He challenged with a devilish smile making her scarlet ...
"Khana khaya aapne? she asked trying to divert her mind from imagining something exotic about him and felt relief when he nodded a yes.
The next evening Rudra and Priyanka planned to have a family youngsters outing at the beach. ShivIka agreed, Gauri was excited and Omkara did not want to go ... he preferred to spend some time alone actually wanting to sleep owing to two continuous sleepless nights ...
Gauri and Omkara crossed each other's way when she was about to leave for the beach ... she smiled and then he smiled ...
"Achhaji hum chalte hain ... she sang to him blinking her eyes cutely.
"BYE! He waved on her face and walked past her ... this time for her to hold his wrist and stop him ...
"Soch lijiye Saahab ji ... hum bhi aap par haq jataane ke sauu tareeke jaante hain! She said with a determined smile
"Please Gauri mujhe neend aa rahi hain ... i need to sleep. Om whined
"Arre abhi humaare saath chaliye phir waapas aakar hum khud aapko lori sunakar sulaaenge! She offered him happily
"Stop trying Gauri! He yawned
"Aap humaari baat nahi manenge? She asked with a sad face.
" Achha theek hain, tum log ruko main change karke aata hoon! She jiggled victory after he gave in because of her five minute I-Am-So-Unhappy stare ...
He relaxed on the warm sand seeing Rudra and Prinyanka splashing the beachwaters and ShivIka walking along the seashore while Gauri made a sand mountain sitting beside him out of which she started building a sand castle now ... he observed her body posture, her features, her expressions as her hands precisely worked on the sand...
"Tumhe andaza bhi hain Gauri ke tum kitni khoobsurat ho? He asked feeling a strong thump in his heart as she looked at him with a gorgeous smile
" Aap keh rahe hain ... toh hum yakeen kar lete hain ... She said turning away her face which was sparkling ruby.
" Dil Harz Nahi Jatata ... Aakhein Jazbaaton Ka Karz Nahi Maanti ... Jaankar Bohot Sukoon Mila Ke Beparwah Hain Maasoomiyat Aapki ... Omkara spoke to her for her ...
"Humme kuch samajh mein nahi aayaa ! Gauri said scratching her head
Omkara chuckled seeing her expressions and she frowned seeing how some waves just touched and ruined her sand castle ...
" Koi baat nahi Gauri ... Chalo phirse banate hain ... Om started helping her
