female lead in Sushant Singh
Rajput's Chanda Mama Door Ke have been
going around for quite sometime now.
Initially, media was abuzz with reports of
actress Aisha Sharma having been roped in
to play the lead role opposite Sushant.
However, the makers denied the news and
released an official statement that read,
"There is no truth to the report . The casting
for the film is still underway and an official
announcement will be made soon."
Later, reports of Fatima Sana Shaikh also
made rounds which were quashed and a
source quoted to a daily, "The makers of
Chanda Mama Door Ke have been hunting
for a leading lady, and they're keen on
casting Fatima for this film. Right now,
nothing is on paper, so one can't confirm
anything about this.
Now, according to a tabloid, Chanda Mama
Door Ke has finally got its leading lady and it
is none other than Shraddha Kapoor. The
actress, who was one of the top contenders
for the role, has bagged the movie and will
be seen opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in
this space drama.
A source from the unit informed the tabloid,
"The female lead had to be someone who is
willing to take a risk. The film requires the
actress to transform physically she has to
sport short hair. This was proving to be a
deterrent for most actresses, who
auditioned for the part, since they wouldn't
be able to do any other film at the same
time. With Haseena Parkar, Shraddha has
made it clear that she is up for experimental
roles. She doesn't have any inhibitions about
chopping her hair for the film and is excited
about the challenge."
When the tabloid got in touch with Viki
Rajani, the producer and Eros International,
they refrained from commenting.
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput has
kickstarted his prep for the movie. The actor
recently visited NASA and shot for the film
there. With this, Sushant has become the
first Bollywood actor to get trained at NASA.
In fact, recently, a picture of Sushant
wearing a spacesuit and getting trained at
NASA went viral on the web. USSRC also
issued an official statement about Sushant's
visit to NASA and said, "We would like to
welcome Youth Icon and promising Indian
Actor, Sushant Singh Rajput for undergoing
this training schedule, including the
important training regimes such as, 'Flying a
Space Shuttle Simulator' or 'Lunar Module/
Mars Lander Simulation', 'Experiencing Zero
G', '1/6', 'Wearing a professional Space Suit',
'Flying a multi-axis trainer' and 'Docking the
shuttle to the ISS'. We congratulate him on
his decision and also applaud the prudent
advice of his director to make things more
authentic rather than just following basic
scripts, concepts and virtual technologies.
We wish Sushant all the success for the
training and for his film and also commend
his efforts in the wake of educating people
back there in India through the learnings he
will take back from here. We hope he will
not only use this knowledge for on-screen
perfection but also be socially involved in
educating people about the future of it,
especially in a nation, which is an emerging
powerhouse in Aeronautical Engineering
and Space and Research Programmes today;
a land that has produced legendary
astronauts."
