Seriously! This dadi seems to be scrambling for excuses to get the wedding done her way, to supposedly avoid stirring gossip and taunts by society. She's not even taking into consideration the desires of the singhania's, who are about to get their only son now married and bring the first and only daughter-in-law of the new generation home. They would want their only son and to-be DIL's wedding to be done in a grand way, but in dadi's selfish and logic-less brain, the singhania's want to show off and people will get excuses to talk.
First of all, what was all that rubbish she was saying that both naksh and kirti's first marriage have already broken and people would talk if they got remarried. Like...Really? Naksh never got married, his alliance just broke, so that doesn't apply to him, plus she was clearly coming up with excuses to justify having a small and quick marriage in order to draw minimal attention because she is afraid people will taunt her, hence why she was clustering both naksh and kirti together into supposedly the same category.
Finally, does she really think that getting both of them married off in a small and quiet ceremony without inviting quests or informing people, and without celebrating it in a grand way despite the marriage being between two wealthy and well-know business families, wouldn't set tongues wagging off?
In my logic, if they both get married quietly on a tiny scale as if they are committing theft as opposed to a marriage, people would find it suspicious once people of society got to know they are married, and then what would they automatically think? That the singhania's were embarrassed to announce that they were getting their bachelor son married to a divorced woman, which would not only cause embarrassment to both the families, but would also just encourage the already standing stigma around divorced people, especially women. People would assume, albeit correctly because of small-minded dadi, that this is the case and the singhania's and goenka's would only further be propagating this stigma around divorcees.
Dadi has proved she's not as intelligent and wise as she claims herself to be, and I hope that somebody brings all this up in the show because it is perhaps the only way she will agree to a proper marriage without that mopey look on her face.
