"Matarani ka lakh lakh shukriya.. Mainu bohot khushi horahi hai Bhallaji" Toshiji was getting excited like a kid.
"Bhallaji mittayi maguvadoh.. mein saabko baathakar aathi hum ki mein daddi banewali hum.."
"Toshiji calm down.. pehle hum ishita ko clinic lekar chalthe he phir subko batheyenge.. teekhe"
"Bhallaji Ishita shouldn't know about this. Usse false hope nahi dena chahiye.. Aap ek baar doctor se iss baath ki baath kariye.."
"Aap sahi keh rahi ho.. Bechari pehale hi ishita ne iskeliye bohot tanna sunna hai.. woh aur toot jayegi.. Mein doctor se baath karthi hun"
"Ji.. mein taiyaar hokar aati hum"
"Teekhe Toshiji mein ghaadi nikalthi hum.. aap ishita ko lekar aavo."
Toshiji got ready and woke Ishita and asked her to get ready. Ishita tried to oppose going to hospital, but Toshiji was adamant.
Ishita got ready and went to hospital along with Senior Bhallas and Simmi. In the hospital, she was taken inside for blood test. After that doctor prescribed some vitamin tablets stating that she is weak nothing to worry and asked them to collect results by evening.
"Meine kaha na Mummyji mujhe kuch nahi hai.. aap sunni nahi rahe dhe.. abh doctor ne hi kaha.. chalo ghar chalthe hai" Ishita said
Toshiji and Ishita went outside leaving doctor and Simmi
"Thank you doctor.."
"Thank you bolne ki koyi jaroorat nahi hai.. aap shaam ko result collect karlijiyega.."
"Sure doctor.. Bye.." and left
They all had their lunch outside, and Ishita directly went to her clinic while all others reached back. All were tensed about the result except the two. They weren't even aware that a part of them is growing inside Ishita, both were lost in their own guilt and worries.
In Bhalla house, all were waiting for the time to pass. Their eyes were fixed on the clock, praying each second to their Mata Rani. Each second appeared to be like years, finally their wait was over. The clock struck five...
"Simmi panch baj gayi.. jaldi doctor ko call lagavo.. chethi kar puthar.."
"Abhi kar rahi hum mumma.."
All were biting their nails, the receptionist picked up the call
"Hello, City Hospital.. How can I help you?"
"Ji.. I just wanna know the results of Mrs Ishita Bhalla.. aaj subhah test ki dhi"
"One second mam, let me check.."
"Yah sure.." All were holding her breath tensedly..
"Results positive hai..."
There was a dead silence.. None of them know how to react, tears of happiness flowed from Toshiji's eyes. Simmi composed herself and said "Thank you" to the receptionist.
"Bhallaji aapne sunna mera beta papa banne wale hai.. Mein dadi.. Mein khushi se abh pagal hojavungi.." Toshiji
"Simmi mittayi maguvavo.. society ki saare ghar mein mujhe sweets deni hai.. aakhir mein bhi dadu ho banne wala hum.. "
"Mein kudh mittayi lekar aati hum.. mujhe ishita keliye gift bhi leni hai aur hospital se reports bhi collect karni hai.."
Hearing the hustle bustle, Iyers came to Bhalla House..
"Yahan kya ho raha hai.." Amma asked coming in.
"Madhu tumme pata hai mein dadi banne wali hum.." Toshiji chirped
Iyers stood quite confused but never in their mind came that Ishita can conceive.
"Kya bol rahe ho Santhoshi.. kaun pregnant hai?" Amma asked to clear her confusion
"Arey madrasan.. Mein dadi banuga toh iska matlab mera beta papa banne wale haina.." Toshiji confused Amma more.
"Aap kya bol rahe ho auntyji.. Agar jeeju papa bannewale hai toh Ishu Akka..." Mihika asked
"Sahi kaha puttar tu ne.. Ishita pregnant hai.." Toshiji cleared
Iyers stood still hearing this. Amma cried in happiness, she was thinking about the past how Ishita was taunted for her disability, how her engagement broke, they had to leave their place.. All these flooded her mind. Toshiji shook Amma out of her thoughts. She hugged Toshiji and cried.
"Meri Ishu maa bannewali hai.. meri ishu.." Amma chocked due to cry
"Haan Madhu hamari Ishu maa bannewali ha.." Viswa added
"Auntyji kya ishu akka ko iss bare mein pata hai?" Mihika asked
"Nahi puttar.." Toshiji told
"Awesome.. then we will give surprise to Ishu Akka.. chalo chalo saari arrangements karni hai.. periamma aap vandu akka aur bala jeeju ko bhi bulavo.."
Soon all were immersed in the arrangements to surprise Ishita. Simmi came back with sweets and reports. It was nearing 9, time for Ishu to come back. All lights were off. Ishu opened the door as it wasn't locked.
"Sab itne jaldi so gayi.." she was surprised as nobody here sleeps before 12 o clock.." ajeeb baat hai.." she thought
She switched on the light and was shocked to see entire Bhalla and Iyers there.
"Amma aap.. aap sab yahan.. aur lights bhi off.. baat kya hai.." Ishita asked
Amma came near her, cupped her face and blew a feathery kiss on her temple and told, "Kanna, mein paati bannewali hum.."
Hearing this Ishita was first shocked but then rushed towards Vandu,
"Congrats Akka.. I'm so happy for you" and hugged her.
Vandu stood there confused.
"Tum mujhe kyu congratulate kar rahi.. Congratulate toh mujhe tumme karna chahiye na.."
Now it was Ishita's turn to stand their confused.
"Akka aap maa banewali ho.. You are pregnant akka.." Mihika saying this hugged her akka tight.
Ishita pulled herself away from her,anger was evident in her face" Yeh kya bakwas kar rahi ho Mihika.. This is not a joke.."
Tears were continuously flowing from her eyes. Everyone could understand Ishita's condition.
"Ishita Mihika saach keh rahi hai kanna.. tum sach mein pregnant ho.." Amma tried to convince Ishu
"Amma aap bhi.. aapko pata haina mein kabhi maa nahi bann sakthi.. phir bhi amma.." she cried bitterly remebering the worst truth of her life.
All tried to convince her, but she wasn't ready to believe. At last Simmi,
"Ishita, yeh dekho.. this is your reports.. Results positive hai.. dekho.." Simmi said showing the result.
She snatched it from Simmi. Her eyes bulged out in shock, she felt weak. Her legs gave up, she sat down on the couch behind holding her head. Tears were flowing from her eyes remembering the taunts she got from society, her broken engagement, numerous rejections she faced.
She ran over her hand the word "POSITIVE". And laughed like a manic, hugged her the reports tight to her..
"Amma mein pregnant hum.."
She touched her tummy feeling the life inside her, "Mera baccha.. Omg this feeling.."
She was so lost in her happiness. All were happy seeing her like this. All congratulated her.
Ishita, Vandu, Mihika and Simmi were sitting together while all seniors were involved in business talks along with Bala.
"Ishu.. tum toh chupe rastom nikli..Arey dekho mere aur Bala ki shaadi hokar 3 years hogayi.. par tum toh just in 3 weeks.. kya baat hai Ishu.." Vandu teased Ishu
Then it struck her that this baby is not made by love, it was just a mistake. She was scared how Raman will react. Will he ask to abort the baby? She was worried. She excused herself from group in the pretext of being tired and went to her room.
Flight landed in US, Raman came out of the airport. Driver was waiting for him, he finally reached his apartment after a tough journey of 22 hours.
