I agree your points on SHivaay but I disagree on @bold part. As per me, he did not place her above his family. I can say that he put her in equal at some matters but not above for sure. Because he had then he did not show at least I did not see it. Why I would tell. Problem had started from NT arrival. Shivaay always says that he believes in facts, he needs information. So let's see what he did in NT case.
He let NT stay there even after Sahil kidnap fiasco bcoz he was so sure that someone is helping her and he wanted to know about that someone. Ok then when annika pointed finger on pinky, he threw NT out why? What changed here that he did not wanted to know about that helping person anymore. Om clearly pointed that if she wanted money then she could have asked when she kidnapped Sahil so fact was she was not here for money but something else. But he dismissed it and in his anger he even say words to annika which he shouldn't have. He clearly said to annika that "Maa pe ilzam nhi lagate hai". Then in mehndi scene again annika pointed that who fixed mehndi would have put chamical (she didn't know that pinky have mixed mehndi) and pinky started her drama. There Shivaay supported both but again he didn't check that who actually mixed it bcoz someone did it na? Then in prinku case again when annika started saying that she went to see Pinky, he yelled and said why are you bringing my mom bcoz he can't hear anything against his mom. In SR scene where Pinky comes with jewell(although it was a plan) annika points out that how pinky always insults her and it is not about money but it is about respect. He dismissed her saying mom is like that, bus upar se bolti h dil se aisi nhi hai.
So in all this I did not see that he had placed her above his family. Yes she was important to him but she was not allowed to point faults of his family members.
Coming at @underline part - Yes he believed that she will protect his family and that's what annika did as per her POV. She thought that if truth comes out then Shivaay will be completely broken and since he is the one who is holding this family together so this family will also break. It is annika's fault that she has no faith on their relation that she can fight against truth with him so she took the decision thinking that she is ultimately giving him his family and protecting it. She assumed that his NKK matters more to him and broke him completely.
Now they both had 3 months of time to think through it. Al though annika accepted that she did a big mistake but she also realise tha there are things which should be change in their relation bcoz it was always Shivaay's upper hand in their relation whereas it is suppose to be equal.
Shivaay also had 3 months time to think through the matter. Now he sees that his bro, family (except pinky) are with her. She is still the same who will stand in between him and a bullet so he should get his doubts. Now they should talk out on this matter to each other rather than making other Jealous and hurting more.
Well for rags angle, I found both shivika in character as I found they are doing what they do
