I was meant to make this post for a while now.
This is the first time (except for Tanu weds Manu), I have noticed how Eijaz acts. It was an impressive performance. It was done on the right note. Even the loud or chiche scenes were done by him in a subtle tones.
And the more I saw it, I realize it was more on the lines of Method acting. He do bring in spoteniety to the role but majority of his work is based on techniques of Method acting.
I have recently had a discussion with a friend who is a theatre actor and he is also a staunch believer of Method school of acting. He was telling me about his bout with depression while portratying a particular character.
(To those who are uninitiated, I will (over) simplify the concept by saying that it is an acting practice where the actor tries to "Live the character (not off screen but it does rub off a bit).
I believe Eijaz works in the same way, his tweets and his interviews seem to indicate it.
And he is doing a fine job of it! His research and observation for doing this role which is completely different than his background is paying off.
(It was more evident in small scenes like where Mukhi ji drinks water at his in laws place. I have seen this drinking water by not putting the glass to lips, done by the generation he belongs to (and even now in villages)
