18. The Temper game
And the days moved on with Prasanna waking up in Satya's bed being a regular affair 😳. Some of his personal things have already found their place in Satya's house.😉
The little birdies Vinod-Malavika too have built in on their own beautiful relationship with many many coffee and lunch &d dinner dates😳. They even explored themselves through some outdoor trips.☺️
All rosy rosy will make romance a dull one. 😆
The day for the National selection is nearing. While Malavika is fully engrossed in her game, Prasanna is more nervous about everything around it. He never had the plans to prepare his team for any selection. With Malavika in his focus, his boys' team too is inspired to take part in the selection game. 👏
Malavika's aggression and Prasanna's temperament are too much that creates conflicting emotions between them. Both are not going along too very well and end up hurting and hating each other after every day's practice.
"Is this what you call the skill in you?" Prasanna throws an insult straight on Malavika's face😆
"I'm sure my skills are good enough. Only a good skilled coach can appreciate that" Malavika is not the one to stay quiet😡
"Too bad you've not met a real one yet"😡
"Too bad that you've to face a real one this late"😆
"It's very difficult to deal with fools"🤣
"Ask me about it. I've to deal with one every day"🤪
They realize it's of no use talking and arguing with each other because none want to let the other have the last word. But it goes like that until someone else comes to pull away each other from getting into a physical fight.😆
Vinod and Satya become the victims being at the receiving ends. It's only their calm and composed nature help them to deal with their counterparts in better ways. Vinod's sportive and humorous nature take a wit out of every bratty behavior of Malavika. Satya's toughness and strength, make it difficult for Prasanna to hold on to his temper tantrums. Nevertheless the journey isn't as easy as it seems.😊
The more aggressive Malavika becomes the more regressive Prasanna is pulled back to a mixed emotions of his past memories. Both from his own failure and the guilt of failing Pranitha. 🤔
The pressure on Prasanna shows up every now and then. Satya notices the changes in him. As much as she tries to understand his state of mind and heart, she's also been exhausted handling his on and off temper which he himself isn't able to control.
"Time for jogging" Satya wakes him😃
"No, I'm not coming" Prasanna refuses to open his eyes🥱
"Come on Prasanna.. It's a beautiful weather.. And you'll love it"
"I'm in no mood for anything now" He's so grumpy that Satya is shocked to see a different man. But yeah she immediately recognizes the same man from her first visit. This must be his approach to deal with his frustration.
Satya doesn't insist much and goes for jog alone. By the time she comes back she finds him missing. There is a note left on her fridge "Didn't make coffee because you don't like it cold". She stares at the note for long time.
The recent days have been very different for her. She is not a person who can stay cranky for long. Maybe because she didn't have much choice to be ill-tempered or with anyone for that matter. She learnt to cherish life for whatever it is and believes in making the best out what she has got. She also strongly believes that it's not worth to waste time being moody while every minute counts for something. 👏
Prasanna knows this very well and adores her more for that nature. He knows that he's long way to get there but unknowingly she's been rubbing on him in positive ways. With the limited time that he had known her, he has learnt to face it rather going to his shell. He runs away from letting it out in words but always comes back to her warm hug, letting out in silence. She's just letting him to be himself and helping him find his own ways to let out. But very less words are spoken between them in those days 🤔.
Malavika too isn't at her best of the moods.
"Come on Malvi relax now. Let's chill out and take a break today"😎 Vinod says
"Why?"😕
"Look how much stressed you are.. Let's go for a long ride"
"Are you serious? We don't have time for anything else"
"We can make time for anything, Malvi. If only we want to"😉
"Ok. Now you have complaints with my priorities?"😡
"Hey come on. I'm just asking to go easy on yourself"😉
"Some people don't have the understanding for the passion?"
"Look who's talking about passion. I don't see that in your acts. It's only fury and rage that's bringing out the bad moods in you"
"That's all part and parcel of me. If you have problem with it, then I can't help it"
"Is it helping you at least?"
Malavika goes quiet with no answer but she's not ready to accept her tantrums that her grumpy state brings in.
"Maalu.. Passion has very thin line between pleasure and irritation. What does your passion bring out of you?"
Vinod has got it right and Malavika knows it. But she's too much engrossed in her pride of being at her best, and not willing to even give a heed to Vinod's thoughts. Unconsciously she understands what he intends to say but consciously she's avoiding to accept it for she doesn't want to be proved wrong.
"I can see you are not gonna accept whatever I'm saying though you know that I'm right"
Malavika is all the more annoyed that he reads her so very well.
"Don't give too much credit to yourself. You could be wrong"
"I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong.. If that can really bring you happiness, baby"😉
"I have no time for this. Let me go" She walks off🤔
Such events became very common between the little birdies who are trying to deal with their relationship and the conflicts in their thoughts for life. But the arguments are letting them be themselves. Their love for each other is only growing inside them unknowingly because they are genuine to their emotions without any pretences. And Vinod is determined in not giving up on her.👏
The cold war between Prasanna and Malavika isn't helping them much. Both are too aggressive in their own form. He lets out the pressure inside him thus transferring the pressure on to her. Malvi is someone who cannot be dictated or controlled by other's unless she allows herself to be tamed. Her annoyance with him and his impatience with her is only doing more damage to their moods.
But all that aggression is working well for them to bring out their best in the game. Malavika has been acing in her techniques and skills with consistent focus. If not anything else, Malavika likes it when Prasanna makes her play with his boys' team. She takes the pride that he finds her fit in his best team. And she also gets to enjoy the competition against Vinod. It's like everyone is using their passion for the sport in the right spirit. Outside the court they hold back themselves keeping the tension alive.
One fine day, after a rigorous tiring session, Prasanna is rushing to Satya's house. It's been two days since he chose to stay sulking. When he reaches her house, he finds someone new in there. A man in his late 50s, is seen yelling and screaming at Satya. Prasanna is shocked to see her being very silent not saying anything against the man.
Prasanna is already irritated and when the man was about to raise his hands on her, the last drop of patience is lost in him. He just rushes inside the house and grabs the man's hand. He was about to hit him when Satya stops the scene.
"Prasanna, please stop"
"Satyaaa.. What's wrong with you? It's he who has to stop the nonsense here"
"Wow.. What a drama.. So, this is your hero?" The man asks sarcastically
"So what? Do you have a problem?" Prasanna counters
"Problem?.. No problem for me as long as I get what I want?"
"And what is that?" Prasanna asks with confusion and irritation
"Of course money" The man smiles shamelessly
"Here you go.. " Satya hands over an envelope to the man
"That's like my girl" The man pats on her cheek and walks towards the door smirking at Prasanna
"Take care, Appa"
The man that she addressed as her father is least bothered about what she said
"Appaaa??" Prasanna's shock and anger knew no bounds
After the man is gone silence prevails for some time. Satya walks into the kitchen and gets tea and snacks. She settles down on the coffee table leaving a cup for him.
Prasanna joins her.
"I'm sorry I went overboard." He starts while she's sipping her tea
"Maybe you tolerate him because he's your father but I can't."
She's now looking at him and he looks at her intensely
"And I hope you don't expect me too. If he repeats his behavior then he has to see the worst of me." His voice expresses his protectiveness for her and anger for her father. She doesn't say anything.
"I don't know why you even bear his nonsense."😕
"Because he's the only one to be called as my own" She says in a shaking voice and he could see her trembling when she's walking away😭
He rushes to her, holds her arms and pulls her into a tight hug, squeezing her into his protective arms.🤗😳
