(Clutching on to the urn, Harkha wept inconsolably. Amidst her lamentations her thoughts were constantly about how to secure justice for Durga, so that her own pain somewhat reduces)

TERAHVEIN DIN KE BHOJAN HETU BULAAYE HARKHA NE APNE MEZBAAN

BHOJAN CHAKHNE KAKA SA KA AAYE AZEEZ, IBRAHIM, CHACHAJAAN

(For the thirteenth day feast, Harkha invited her hosts for the meal. Ibrahim, AZeez and Chachajaan, all of them came to partake of the delicious meal prepared by Maharaj Kakasa)

KHAN SAHIB BHI AAYE, TANIK DER SE, PEHNE EK RESHMI ACHKAN

KHOOB RUCHI SE KHAAYA SABNE, MAHARAJ KAKA KA SWADISHT BHOJAN

(Khan Sahib also came for the feast, albeit a little late. For the occasion he donned a silk tunic. Everyone enjoyed the feast)

JAANE LAGE JAB UTH KE WAHAAN SE, KHAN SAHIB KI NAZAR THHI HARKHA PAR

AADAAB KAR AABHAAR JATAYA, HARKHA THHI KHADI VISMIT HOKAR

(On his way out, Khan Sahib's eyes were looking at Harkha incessantly. After staring into her eyes for a while he expressed his thanks to her with a formal 'Adaab'. Harkha, however, stood shocked)

KHAN SAHIB KE IS HARKAT NE HARKHA KE MAN KO GHER LIYA

DHEEMI SI SULAGTI CHINGAARI NE VYAAPAK AGNI KA ROOP LIYA

(Harkha's mind could not think of anything other Khan Sahib's Adaab. The spark of affections, which was seemingly glowing slowly as embers, thus began to take the form of a roaring fire)

AAINE KE SAAMNE BAITHI HARKHA USS AADAAB KI NAKL KARNE LAGI

MAN HI MAN MUSKAATI THHI WO, PREM KI AAG MEIN JALNE LAGI

(Sitting in front of the mirror, Harkha began to duplicate Khan Sahib's 'Adaab' with a benign smile on her face. Thus began her tryst with love)

HARKHA KA MAN AB ULAJHNE LAGA THHA KHAN SAHIB KE HI BAATON MEIN

SWAYAM KO SURAKSHIT SAMAJHNE LAGI WO UNKE HIFAAZATI HAATHON MEIN

(Harkha's mind was besotted with Khan Sahib. She thought herself to be secure and protected in his presence)
