Summed it up really well bro.

I intact think no films should be made for pseudo intellectuals. Cinema is for entertainment in my perception. They can watch their documentaries

^^ As if the pseudos have the capability of watching documentaries or actual good films. Everything their faves do is pathbreaking for them. After their fave's films release and flop: Blame Indians, blame their lack of taste, blame their intellectual capabilities and act holier-than-thou while watching the same trash BW films like the rest of us. Rinse and repeat.

Good question.
Ever heard of the movie "Wizard of Oz". It is considered one of the greatest movies ever, an ground breaking movie. It had kids and animals "Lions and Tigers and bears, oh my" is a famous quote. It cost a lot of money, made some money too but was a loss because of the production cost initially. They had to have reshoots because of the sepia and color tones. It was critically acclaimed too and is a musical. Sound familiar ? It finally started making money after re-release after a few years.

The first time I saw Jagga Jasoos it reminded me of that movie.

Is cinema art or entertainment ? In most cases it is mindless entertainment and nothing wrong with that. But what makes it art are movies like Wizard of Oz, The Godfather or Nayagan in India. It is labor intensive with a heavy emphasis on acting. That's what makes movies art from commerce.

Just because you enjoy masala or your favorite is incapable of acting does not make movies only fit for entertainment or people who appreciate good acting should only watch documentaries. If not we would not get movies like God father, Wizard of Oz and the entire Malayalam industry which is heavy on realistic cinema.

i started watching it with the expectation of seeing TIntin and Harry Potter ..
then suddenly found Five Find Outers with the clock tower mystery.
bt then they threw Purulia Arms Drop Case.now it turned bit grim.
the happy light feeling went away.shruti's accidents were a huge relief
though.i knew it that nt many ppl will have the urge to sit through
this one.i still loved it.it could have been trimmed hd they nt narrated
in flashback comic book 1 2 3 style.film could have been min 20 min shorter.
at times i felt is rk trying to pull of a srk with the stammering.i guess stammering
is a repetitive theme now.not going to work.overall it was a okayish movie.
nt worth sitting through second time though.there will be no repeat audience.
forgot to mention the climax.i want a sequel just for the climax 😳

Moi - Do you expect people to know Wizard of Oz here?
You gave a beautiful explanation but that won't be accepted here.

Some Reviewer said that Ranbir should be a Malaylam movie !!

Cause Jagga Jasoos is exactly like that. Complete with kids and animals, reshoots, over budget, bloated budget, musical and critically acclaimed.

One of the famous songs "Someday over the rainbow" was almost cut, today it is a classic. Today Wizard of Oz is a classic, then it did not make a profit because of budget. Today people sing the praises and is one of the great cinema classics, when it came out I expect not so much because it cost a lot of money and did not make a profit. So too IMO JJ. A flop today, most likely a ground breaking film in Indian cinema in the future.

His acting is much better than Sara, Jhanvi, Ananya, Arjun and other star kids. His acting is even better than his wife Shilpa. Anyone agree...
