Nope the hindi songs were clubbed together n sung like a medley instead of individual songs.

Some songs ok perhaps, but all songs sucks. I would get upset too. I can't remember a concert that this happened. We got bad singing with Arjit perhaps a bad day, but complete songs and he made us sing

Good point. Sometimes, I get frustrated with the reality shows where most of the time audience are judges. Maximum votes go to the singer who sang a popular song over the one who chose a difficult song. I prefer the competitions where artists are judges. However biased they are, they gave us Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chawan. Idol winners selected from common people could never reach their place.

It is the same common people who are buying tickets for the concert. It is a tricky place for a musician. When he has to satisfy his artistic thirst, he has to play to the gallery who wants him to sing their popular song. If the artist does not feel obliged, he should not have chosen to play the concert which sells tickets at high price. Commercialisation of art bings its own perks (recognistion, fame and of course money), but it also demands certain compromises.
