I hope this has the quality that American netflix shows have. Maybe then Indian movie stars will feel more comfortable doing TV shows, especially because Netflix doesn't track ratings or publish their info anywhere.
This is incentive to actually do good work without worrying if the annoying masala masses will watch or not. They have really destroyed BW with the crore counting and demands of seeing the same old same old all the time. Everyone is afraid to do anything out of the box now.
If they're making shows based on books, Shantaram and A Suitable Boy also have a lot of material for long episode arcs.
