Anika parked the car on the lakeside,got down and slammed the door shut. She rested her head against it,wondering how long this would continue before her head exploded.
Her mind fogged up, tears burned her eyes and her lips trembled.She blinked back a tear, but it escaped and slid down her cheek.
This was the fourth time when she accompanied Shivaay and Ragini on shopping for their wedding with a motive to show SSO that it doesn't affect her
He seemed to like the girl,She should be happy for him,She thought but every time she saw them smiling with each other,something inside her broke.
She knew she was a sane person and now she had a job too but still found something was amiss.
What in the world was happening to her?Why was the fact of him drifting apart form her forever bothering her?why her heart ached seeing him with someone else?Why did She feared losing the "haq" she had on him to someone else?Why did she still get affected by his closeness, when it was her decision to move out of his life for his betterment.
She felt depressed and frustrated.She was tired of putting on a brave face in front of everyone when her heart was being crushed into pieces from inside.She hated this feeling.She wanted to forget him and move on but as hard as she tried,she just couldn't.One of the most difficult tasks in life is removing someone from your heart,and now she understood what a grave mistake she has done by agreeing to Pinky's blackmail but it takes a lot of courage and trust to look past what you've been through and trust the same person not to put you through it again and she knew she had lost Shivaay's trust
Dadi was right when she said that numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
And now when she looked up towards the sky,she saw that the night was so dark...She could not see the stars. The world felt as high as the depth less night sky and deeper than she could know. She understood, suddenly and keenly, that she was too small to run away, and she sat on the damp ground against the car,holding her knees to her chest and cried her heart out
Not being able to bear her miserable state anymore,Shivaay quickly came out of the place he was hiding all along and ran towards where she was sitting.He knelt down in front of her.
"Anika?"He called out her name but she continued to stare into oblivion
On getting no response from her,his heart started pounding loudly.He had to fix it once and for all.He held her by her shoulders and shook her and said "Look at me Anika"
She finally got back into her senses and was shocked to see him there.She jerked his hands away and stood up "What are you doing here?"She asked her voice brimming with anger
"Do you love me Anika?"
Her eyes grew wide as soon as he put up his question
She didn't answer, even though she knew that he wanted her to say yes.
"I know you love me,so why are you running away from it? Don't do this to yourself and to me"
"Have you gone mad Shivaay?You are soon going to get married to someone else .Stop all this nonsense right now."She screamed on top of her lungs
He Just smiled and came closer to her.He held her hands in his and said "You know what Anika,sometimes two people have to fall apart to realise how much they need to fall back together.I have understood this thing but you couldn't"
"What..what do you mean?"She asked with a choked voice looking straight into his eyes
"Anika,you always call me a 'stupid' but today you became one.It was all an act to make you realise that you love me.Ragini is my childhood friend and when I explained her how much I love you,she agreed to help me out.I told you no?That I can never give that place to someone else which I have given you."He replied smiling ear to ear
She could feel anger boiling up inside her.She removed her hands out of his grip and started hitting his chest with her fists"what do you think of yourself?Why do you always play with my emotions Shivaay? Why?"
He didn't react,he knew she needed to get it all out from her heart.She felt weak and drained out,she stopped what she was doing and buried her face in the crook of his neck as he held her.One part of her needed him,needed his arms around her,needed him to hold her and whisper that they could be together.But another part of her wanted to jerk him away,shout on him and fight with him.
He wrapped his hands around her waist and placed a soft kiss on top of her head and coaxed her to speak up what was troubling her
"I'm scared to go through all that again Shivaay,I'm scared to listen all those hurtful words again.My heart is not strong enough to endure everything again" She said sobbing uncontrollably
"I am sorry Anika,sorry for hurting you so much,sorry for not trusting you,sorry for not being there for you when you needed me the most,sorry for doing things that I shouldn't have done.I feel so ashamed that I showed my worst side to the best thing that has ever happened to me."
"And you are not weak.You are brave and strong.You sacrificed your love for my betterment but how could you think that I will remain happy without you?"
Her eyes grew wide as she looked at him surprised
Yes,my love I know everything about my Mom's evil deeds.When I signed those divorce papers I was angry and my feelings were hurt at that time but later when I calmed down,I realised that a pure soul like you cannot hurt anyone,there was something which you were hiding from me,and then I called OmRu and confronted them and you know they can't lie to me for long and then we three planned all this.I wanted you to trust me and tell me the truth,tell me how much you love me and that you can't live without me"
"I know that I have hurt you many times in the past,I can't change the past.But all I can say is that I won't do the same mistake I have done no matter what happens.Because the best apology is a changed behaviour.Please come back! Don't give me such a big punishment.I'll do everything for your forgiveness.Please give me another chance.I promise I will be a better person."
"Deep down you know me,you know my love is real,you know I make you happy.Please take my hand and let me love you,care for you.Isn't that's all we both ever wanted?" He asked forwarding his hand towards her
She looked into his light brown eyes which reflected immense love for her and placed her hand in his,ready to become his again
He smiled and cupped her cheeks,a cool breeze touched the warmth of her cheeks and her hairs swayed gently.He rubbed her cheeks lightly with his thumbs. Tiny drops of rain spattered their faces as he leaned closer to her and captured her soft lips into a passionate kiss.They enjoyed this feeling of togetherness after 3 long months and got lost in the warmth of each other.Afterwhat it seemed eternity they broke the kiss and stood there joining their foreheads.They knew that they still had long way to go before they can marry each other again.But at that moment all they understood was that They Were Finally Home
