What a peaceful and serene NaiRan scene today. Kitna chota sa par pyaara sa scene tha! ❤️
Firstly, I loved the setting of the scene. Karan is working in his room and Naina is there as well, just putting stuff in order, arranging books, moving here and there. They aren't talking, Karan is engrossed in his work and she is stealing glances at him once in a while. Such a normal, real scene. When you are just enjoying being in each others presence, enjoying the companionable silence. I don't know why but I love these kind of scenes. It just adds some amount of depth to any scene in my opinion.
Naina is about to leave the room but the lights go off. Karan looks up and gets slightly annoyed at this disturbance to his work. Naina goes and gets a candle and lights it. Again, the placement of the scene was beautiful. Karan is sitting on the chair-table in the middle of their room and Naina is kneeling down next to the table with the candle now between them on the table. Beautiful shot it was! 👏
And then, the look exchange. I have said earlier that I can never get over the way Karan looks at Naina but today the way both of them just looked at each other was beautiful. They create magic through a simple look. I don't think I'll ever get tired of them just looking at each other. Naina usually breaks these exchanges very early but today she was also content to just be. It went on for quite some time. I think its in these scenes that their feelings really come out. When they say eyes are the windows to your soul, they probably mean this.
Naina still is the one to break this exchange and says that now he has enough light to study so he has no excuses. She is smiling and turns to leave but stops at Karan's words. "Badi hasi aa rahi hai? Ek baar tum vapas kamre mein aa jao, aadha kaam tumse karaunga. Phir dekhte hain kitni hasi aati hai." Aww. He was actually teasing her. And you should listen to his tone. It was such a normal, teasing, a trifle annoyed and as always, slightly indulgent tone. Its so endearing how confident he has become in this relationship now. Naina, smiles, turns and says, "Main toh kab se intezaar kar rahi hoon Karan." And then they again stare at each other. Naina really cannot wait to get back to Karan can she? Again, its these small, almost inconsequential statements that make so much of a difference.
She leaves and Karan, who is still smiling to himself, thinks, "Aur zada intezaar nahi karna padega tumhe Naina. Bohot jald tum iss kamre mein vapas aaogi. Aur iss baar, hamesha ke liye." THIS. So determined, so clear. Karan really has come a long way. He wants Naina, and will stop at nothing to get her.
Elsewhere, did NK feel upset at seeing Karan's condition? I felt so. He is not immune to Karan's suffering. He has always been concerned deep down actually. We know that right from MeghNal's engagement. Chalo, there is something there to build on.
And ofcourse, Teej is now only three days away. I have given up trying to understand the Math. Seriously. 🤣
