Reason 1

Anika's Pov:

I couldn't sleep that night. The events rendered her to stay awake. The pain in stranger eyes was enough to keep her senses awake.

"How can I help the stranger?

"What must have caused him to take such drastic step like suicide?

"And most importantly, how I am going to help him without knowing what happened to him?

These questions were my only concern.

"Heck! You even don't know his name! Without further arguments I marched into the room in which he was staying in my house.

"Knock Knock

I knocked on the wooden door for I guess more than 100 times but no reply came in. All the corrupted thoughts started creeping from corners of my brain.

"Shit what if he had hanged himself from the fan! What if he jumped from the window! What if...

To confirm all my suspicions were wrong I barged into the room thus embarrassing myself even more! There he was standing in with wet hairs water dripping from his wet hair on his well chiselled chest with white towel hung lowly on his waist and his mouth in shaped of "O.

"What are you doing here? Surprise evident in his voice

"Umm Umm... Coherent words couldn't come out of my mouth. His half naked glory wasn't helping either. I gulped and turned around indicating him to cover himself so I could at least talk.

He was smarter than I thought. He got the hint and wore my dad's shirt.

"Aheem He cleared his throat.

I looked at him and smiled.

"Thank you for letting me stay here. I didn't know your parents were so cool of having a male friend! The stranger tried smiling but failed miserably. He was sad indeed very sad.

"Not a problem. They trust me! I guess every parent is like this. I smiled.

"Not everyone I heard him murmur.

I glanced at him surprised. I was about to ask him why he said that but remembered I had lot more to ask.

"So what is your story stranger? I chirpily asked forgetting that it was a sob story.

He glared at me but opened his mouth.

"I was born rebel in my family. Since being the only child, I was given everything I wished for except love and trust from my parents. And then it happened. Suddenly his voice became heavy. I looked at him urging him to continue.

"Everyone betrayed me! My parents, my girlfriend and specially my friends! I just don't know now how to trust someone. You must be wondering why I am telling you even when we don't know anything about each other apart from our names! But that's the thing! I have nothing to lose now. I lost everything! Tears rolled down from his eyes.

I didn't know after listening to him a sudden hatred towards his parents and friends ran down. My mind was screaming at me to ask what happened but the tears in his eyes told me it's the story of another day!

"And since I lost everything, I decided to jump from the bridge but there also luck wasn't in favour of me! You came and saved me. And what I did like an ungrateful person I gave you a challenge of giving me 7 reasons! Pathetic isn't it? He laughed.

I was rendered speechless. I don't know what made my brain stop talking - his sadness or the pain that I was feeling for a stranger.

"I have no one. I can't share anything with anyone because no one understands me! He sad on bed next to me.

"I am here. I understand you! Or at least will try to I absentmindly hugged him. He suddenly became tensed but realizing that I wasn't going to leave him he hugged me back. As soon as his arms encircled around my waist a sense of security and protectiveness smuggled me. I pulled back and stared in his orbs.

"Listen, I don't know what happened back there though I am eagerly want to know but I won't pressurize you and ruin everything. But you got to understand that I trust you. I know you didn't doo anything and may be if you did it must have not been intentional! I spoke in one go. His eyes not leaving my face for a second. I backtracked my mind considering how blunt I get when I start speaking. After processing what I told him, I got my answer!

"Hey, I got my first reason. Eureka! Eureka! My first reason. I beamed a 32 volt smile at him.

He stared at me as if I was an alien. I ran to my room for getting my iPod feeling accomplished.

I came back plugged in the ear cuffs in his ears and played the song which will give him the answer .

'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

After listening the song he looked at me like I was crazy .

"You didn't get? Don't worry but I got it! Like you said you have no one to talk and share your feelings but now you have someone and that's me! You needed a friend and I am that person who you gonna bitch and gossip about everything. Infact tomorrow we will go out and I will make you meet my friends.

"So here is my first reason: Friends! So, I am Anika Singh! Friends forever? I stretched my hand in front of him hoping he would find this a satisfactory reason.

He glanced at him and after hesitation shakes it.

"If forever lasts then yes forever. This side Shivay Singh Oberoi! He smiled genuinely for the first time in the night.

"Ohh ...Shivay! Since you are my friend now and I guess sleep won't be near for both of us! Let's have our first movie marathon! I dragged him out of his room despite his constant protest saying it was two in the morning.
