Are people really trying to credit MPK's super success to Salman's stardom now? This Omkara dude is just getting desperate now. In shambles, really.
Pray tell, was Salman born a Megastar or was it the millions of followers garnered through Biwi ho to Aisi?
The credit for MPK, Bobby, KNPH, Betaab, Love Story and such debut Blockbusters goes to the director and more importantly the All time music that all these films possessed not the stars. They just gained from them and became stars.
All that said, Salman is the biggest star today. I don't think there's any shak in it. His films haven't had the longevity and the WOM of Aamir's films but more importantly Aamir really makes hay at the Premium Multiplexes where he's invincible while Salman does it at Single screens where the ticket prices can be 5-10x less. The tickets sold are pretty similar for both and most of the times Salman has more. So Gross alone is not the most optimal way to look at it.
