He is ready to accept the kid as his own because Gauri said it is yours. He is ready to take the responsibility to raise him as legitimate kid not leaving the kid to be called as illegitimate throughout his life.
He doesn't like Gauri infact hates her for being gold digger still he believed that kid might be his and is ready to give all rights to the unborn kid. He thinks Gauri want to use kid as opportunity to stay in OM and doesn't want to give her that opportunity but didn't want to deny kid from his rights.
And the real fact is there is no kid for whom he is getting concerned and Gauri knows that's why no question from her side about rights on the kid. She is lying to Om and she knows that.
