Tubelight Does Well Over First Weekend

Tubelight grossed 62.75 crore nett over its first weekend which is the second highest weekend collection of the year after Bahubali - The Conclusion but that film was double of Tubelight. The weekend figures are pretty good but not blockbuster figures which are the expectations for a Salman Khan on Eid. There was the pre Eid factor over the weekend where muslims stay away from theatres but even allowing for that the collections are still lower than they should be for the film to compare with his earlier Eid films. There is a big national holiday on Monday which should keep the collection over 20 crore nett and then some circuits get the benefit of post but the real test will come after. The weekend collections of Tubelight are as follows.
Friday - 20,75,00,000
Saturday - 19,75,00,000
Sunday - 22,25,00,000
Grand Total - 62,75,00,000
The film managed to show strong growth in Gujarat / Saurashtra on Sunday but the best business has come in East Punjab which has a very limited muslim population and it has grossed around 8.25 crore nett in that circuit which is more than the lifetime of Kaabil. The film will easily become the highest grosser of the year in this circuit before the week is out after Bahubali - The Conclusion. Delhi city has also done pretty well but the overall Delhi / UP figures are below the mark because of UP.
