Oh so the same GST rates on every good or service throughout India? Thanks I get it now. So now if we eat food in a restaurant, we won't get a bill that has 15 types of taxes written on it? Just one GST thats all? But still I dont get one thing. What does the government benifit from doing this?

Cascading of taxes will be removed and it will be easier for govt to find out if you avoid paying taxes and tax evasion becomes difficult 😆

This will increase the overall ticket price and will cut into the pocket of the audience

People will frequent the cinema halls even less and wait for the film to come on television

Or may be they will wait so that a good print of the film comes online later

So ultimately it will affect the footfalls in the cinema halls to a large extent

But as was evident from a post on page 1, the current entertainment tax rate is more than 28% in multiple states.. why shud the ticket prices increase for everyone? In fact in states like Maharashtra, the prices will decrease..
