Yes, and this is why I guessed that Karan is Sandhya's son. Sandhya was also pregnant in Chittorgarh. Nirmala lost her baby for some reason and sandy decided to let Nirmala pass off Kunal as her own son.

It makes perfect sense if you see Sandy's love for Kunal and hatred for Karan. So far, we have only seen Sandhya ruining Karan's life. But never for Kunal.

Nirmala's baby may have been stillborn and she may have been told that she could not conceive again, hence this substitution
