I have a feeling that Kunal is not Nirmala's son bought somehow connected to Sandhya. There was a clip that said Nirmala thought she couldn't conceive and so got NK married to Sandhya. From NK's behaviour, I don't think this is possible.

Kunal may be Sandhya's nephew whom Sandhya agreed Nirmala could pass off as her own to save her marriage.

Thereat least seems to be something worst that Nirmala thinks they have done, they might have not and it could be only Sandy's plan... its also related to a baby, the writers have created the suspense well

But wasn't nirmala already pregnant when that chittorgarh incident happened?? She did confessed vthat something happened on her trip to chittorgarh during her first delivery in which sandhy helped her
