0-18 inches -> Intimate distance
18inches - 4 feets -> Personal distance
4feets - 12 feets -> Social distance
12 feets - 25 feets -> Public Distance

Okay this is related to science...not that scientific just some thing i found cool. Here it is:

When a jellyfish eats a clam it take a couple hours to open the shell just about a cm and then it takes its stomach out through the mouth and puts it in the shell and digests the clam. Then pulls its mouth back and that is how a jellyfish eats a clam..it brings the stomach to the food instead of the food to the stomach!
