Just finished watching the show and I totally wanted to tell you guys my opinion of the last scene to see if anyone else had the same thought as I did...
The scene in the gazebo seemed to me like a love confession instead of only a friend trying to help out another friend... 😳
And it wasn't in the words, but more in the expressions of the actors. I could see in Neel's eyes the softness that a guy who's afraid to ruin a relationship, while proposing to a girl. I coulsnsee the disbelief in Avni's eyes- as if she's thinking "Really? You want to be by my side?" " You're choosing me over everyone else?".
And the hug itself was more of her way of responding to his offer. She agreed without saying a word, without expressing how vulnerable she was, and how scared she was to let anyone in. But, he understood.
His understanding was almost like a victory to him. I could see the half smile around Neel's lips but his eyes were wide as if he wasn't sure that Avni had actually trusted him, and put her faith in him.
It was such a well done scene.
This to me was a proposal if we look at how AvNeel's relationship had been so far. And now, we'll get to see how love blossoms between them. Avni, unguarded and sincere to him, and Neel, concerned and protective, wanting to show her that it's okay to lean on people and that people love her for her, not for her name or lack thereof.
