The next day early morning at the basketball court, Mount Carmel's girls' team is rocking the stadium against the Christ College team🥳. The girls' in red are giving a run on scores against the girls' in green.
A girl from the green team is running towards a classroom.
She tries waking up a man, who is in deep sleep, his face buried into an air pillow.
"Sir, Sir, please sir. We need your help and support Sir"😭
The man turns around and squeezes his eyes seeing the first light of the day. He looks fresh from a good night's sleep at the same time his unkempt hair and shrunk tee make him look more like a lazy chap after a day long nap.😉
"Sir, we need you, Sir"😭
Still trying to register what's happening, Prasanna's face is blank and quiet.
"Sir, our girls are losing.. And that too very badly" The girl said almost crying
"How bad?" Finally he speaks😆
She goes quiet not knowing what to say.
The next moment he is walking out of the classroom which was allocated by the host college, as a comfortable stay place for the teams traveled in from various places. He just managed to freshen up quickly and wore a pullover on top but still his lazy look showed up and he didn't seem to bother about it.😉
As he walks into the basketball stadium, all he could hear is the chant "Hip hip Carmel.. Hip hip Carmel". One look at the scoreboard he is shocked and facepalms reading it as "46:9".
"Seriously?! Are you girls sleeping in the court? Where is Rakesh?" He rages at her. Could be because his sleep was disturbed or the score is insulting for him
"He's there, Sir" She points to the person who is completely worn out by the look of his hair and sweating face
"Hey Poornima, what are you looking at? Block her" Rakesh is giving weird instructions to his already messed up team in green.
"What are you even trying here?" The angry coach is now standing next to him giving the shock of his life.
"Sss Sir, Sss.. You?"
"Sss, Sss.. it's me.."
"Sir, the girls.. The opponent.. The score.. "
"Never mind.. Just 10 more minutes left.. "
As he is saying something, he hears a cheerful voice giving smart instructions and every move that is being suggested, catches his full attention. And he watches the girls in red playing the game acefully without any flaws. Given a choice he would have cheered for the way Malavika played the defense and intelligently grabbed the ball dribbling through her way to the basket. If not for the score reading a 48:9 this time, amidst the roaring applause for his opponent team, he would have been lost in the wonderful game by the girls in red. Just then he brought the attention back to the voice screeching through his ears. He moves Rakesh from his blocking view and sees the owner of the voice. 😳
There she is in her black tracks and red tee, matching to her team. She is jumping like a little girl hooting and animating the whole game in the court. Her cheerful stance is so contagious catching hold of the audience thus making them root for the Carmel girls.
For the first time a smile spreads on Prasanna's face seeing the love and craze for the game. He is seeing the woman shining bright in the morning freshness, and the sweat from the work out reflected in her healthy skin. The smile and enthusiasm in her adds to the glow around her.
"What am I doing?" He chides himself in his mind and turns his attention to the scoreboard once again. He opens his mouth finally...
"Come on you stupid girls, Time-out"
"What the hell" Satya blurts out turning to see the person whose voice is rough and edged
That moment he looks and she looks, staring at each other.. deep into their eyes saying nothing at all.. But looks like a lot been said in that flash of the moment. He prolonged his gaze at her without losing a moment of expression in her face. She is disturbed and annoyed by his peering through her eyes as if he's trying to read it all. But she is not the one to back off when it comes to intimidating men especially at her skills in the game. She sees it as a challenge to her talent thus not ready to be terrified by the opponent.👏
The girls gather in front of their respective coaches. Satya is trying to stay calm and composed because she's losing it already. She was enjoying the game and was so involved in it thus expecting a record breaking scores for her girls. Now this man came in, interrupting the flow and form of the game.
"How dare he" She is murmuring to herself
Seeing her girls getting disturbed she controls herself and smiles at them
"Cheer up my girls.. You are rocking out there"
She settles down and slowly glances through the opponent team and sees that he's giving some instructions to his girls but all his attention is here with her. She could even see a smirk and a teasing smile from him.
"Is it real or am I imagining?" She murmurs again
"Sattam, are you okay?" Malvi asked
"Hmm.. Yes..."
"Don't worry darling, we will win this game" A comforting hand comes around her shoulder only to increase her frustration
"Are you serious?" She barks at him
He immediately moves away from her wondering what he said wrong
"Do you think I'm worried about my girls winning this game?"
"I thought" He mumbles
"Can't you see, Abhishek?" She points to the scoreboard
"There's no way they gonna win it. But how dare he meddles with the game now. Where was he all the while?"
"Hmm.. You have a point" Abhishek nods in agreement, which he is best at, whenever it comes to her frustration.🤪
And it's time to have the girls back in action. Loud cheers roared through the stadium. The Carmel girls are ready to take a ride against the Christ college girls.
As Malvi took a lead on the game Satya's voice cheered through the air.
"That's my girl out there" she says
"Hey you, the tall one" Prasanna turns to Rakesh "What's her name?"
Satya couldn't help but notice this conversation between the coaches of her opponent team.
"Is he even for real?" She exclaims🤣
She shakes her head unbelievably smirking at Prasanna which he doesn't miss to notice. As if his ego is hurt, he yells on top of his voice "Block the girl and grab the ball, you idiot"
As if an automated robot, the girl, Poornima blocked Radhika and took the ball but she fouled by blocking in the process. The ball is given back to Carmel's team and again they taking charge of the ride only to be charged by the opponent.
Satya is irritated and annoyed by the silly drama created by the new coach meddling with the whole game.
Prasanna looks at Satya and he seems to be enjoying her annoyance. 😆
He twists and turns the game too much that neither of the teams are able to move ahead with the scores.
The last ten minutes are draining down the energy of the players and the audience. The game that was entertaining the crowd with interest a few minutes earlier now seems to be a waste of time with gimmicks. The stadium slowly started thinning down with less viewers. Finally the score remained Carmel - 48 : Christ - 9 when the last second of the game was over. What would have been a victoriously celebrating moment for the Carmel girls ended up as a tiresome dramatic event. The Christ college girls in green walked out as if nothing mattered to them. 😆
"Sir, wasn't it fun?" Poornima asks
Prasanna didn't say anything
"You should've looked at their faces" The Christ girls are giggling and laughing amidst their tease. One of the girls shows faces leaving Malvi raging behind her.
"I'm not gonna leave you losers" Malvi charges towards her opponents
"Malvi, we are coming too" The other Carmel girls are ready to pick their fight too.🥳
Satya is in no mood to stop them.
Abhishek looks at her and knows that she's not gonna do anything. He runs behind the girls hoping to stop them only to see Malvi catching hold of the teaser girl, pushing her down, rolling on the floor. 🤣
Prasanna just stands by watching as if it's just another game.🤪 Satya sees that the fight is only intensed, with none giving up. She walks towards her girls, sees the guy just standing rock solid without any action. Irritated by his mere presence, she tries hard to ignore him. She pulls Malvi to separate her hold from her opponent.
"Let her go, Malvi. It's not worth your time" Satya says
"No Sattam, I need to teach a lesson to these useless girls" Malvi is in full form
"There you said it. They are here just for time pass. We have more important things to do" Satya gives a sarcastic look at Prasanna which he notices and shows no reaction
"Hmm. You are right Sattam.. Get lost, loser" Malvi almost pushes the girl away and walks off.
The girl, Poornima, tries to attack her when Prasanna holds her back
"Enough of your drama now. It's sad but what she said is right. You are getting useless. If you wanna fight then show it in your game. Not like this"
"Wow.. What an advice from the drama King himself.. " Satya's taunt pinches Prasanna. But he quietly walks off followed by his team.
" Such a day.. Let's go rest" Abhishek says
"Yes, I need it very badly" Satya rushes to the classroom allocated for the Mount Carmel girls' team.
