The TRP game and IB

I've been a silent reader in the IF forum. I've been hooked to IB. The recent developments made me question the TRP which seems to be detriment factor to TV shows. Did IB really require a leap at this point of time? Does a show which is just to complete the one year anniversary require such a drastic step or did the channel force it down on the PH?

People like me watch IB to get away from the daily monotones routine for light heart entertainment. In the initial days IB had its unique flavor which kept international non Hindi audience like me hooked to the show. The concept, the dialogs, talented co actors and the most importantly the lead's chemistry was way above the other serials. This could have been the reason for many international audiences were very receptive to the show.

So why was it not able to gain the TRPs as of late? Far too much negativity from the time from Mrs Kapoor to the Kapoor sisters, Dashk , Kamini to Pinky became too monotonous and it diluted all the other positive factors in the show. This is very visible the last two weeks. Maha episodes though there was negativity from Pinky's side the family coming together and the light hearted moments gave us a glimpse of the old days IB we used to adore. TRPs were high and then too much negativity the next week drowned the TRPs. Have the CVs+ PH really dissect the factors or are they too busy with other ventures to care?

After the spinoff the saving grace was Shivika-the lead chemistry. What insanity made the PH to separate their center piece of the show suddenly? In the name of creativity will we be fed the same old hate love story all over again? Recycling the old materials is not creativity. Gul and the CV will have to tread carefully at this point. If they bring too much negativity and more recycling .

Why was IPKKND a phenomenal success? It was change and broke all the stereotypes. Ishqbaaaz would have been an equal if not better competitor-but too much negativity and lack of creativity could not take it beyond a certain point. IB showed about relationships and not everything is about blood and money. Conflicts are part of society does it have to end in divorce, separation, affairs and evil saas bahu drama? Can it not be shown where the family stays intact or comes together instead in a conflict thus making bonds stronger? By promoting negativity and normalizing these actions it also questioned another bond-The scared bond of marriage. Wouldn't the husband or wife fight tooth and nail to save a marriage?

I hope in the TRP game Gul would not lose both the shows. It would very unfair for such a talented cast and crew.At the end of the day it is the audience who would make or break a show. If you distance yourself from the audience sentiments and go your own way God help you.
