Umm... read the update first..then I will tell you why this pre epilogue
Geet had fainted in Maan's arms again seeing Sam in that state. Police had called ambulances and put Sam's lifeless body in that and took is to the hospital..They wanted to ask Maan some questions but he requested them to do that later as Geet needed urgent treatment
He tried to wakeher up and patted her cheek-Geett...Geeet open your eyes..But she did not respond..
Maan introduced himself to the dr who was with other Ambulance and requested to give Geet first aid.. Dr. checked her and told Maan that she was unconscious due to the shock of experiencing the almost death But she needed a proper check up at hospital as she could still have some water in side of her body which needed to be taken out
Maan put her in his car and went to the Hospital..Everyone was shocked to see her in that state. They started to ask question but Maan ordered ward boy to move fast ..He did not reply nay question and moved towards the emergency room...He admitted her quickly and her treatment started..
Dr examined Geet and said to Maan-Dr. Khurana though she looks fine but I think she still has some water in her body which has entered in some of her organs..we will pump out that water..don't worry
But why she is unconscious she came in senses at the lake for few minutes?
It happens Dr...and she is fine ..Nothing is going to happen to her..She is unconscious because she is in trauma after all she has come back from the clutches of death..She is damn lucky that she is saved but she will take time to be normal Dr. Khurana
Seeing Geet in that state he felt pain in his heart..His heart sulked with guilt..She was near to her death all because of him..if he was not in her life she might have been living happily without any fear. Since he entered her life she was always in pain. sometimes because of him sometimes because of dadi and finally it was Sam who had planned to kill her just because he was somehow connected with Geet..What her fault was in this?
Someone came to call him as police needed him for some enquiry
Hospital had informed Geet's mother about Geet so she was there..
She reached near Geet and started to cry seeing her daughter in that condition..
What happened to her?..how did it happen?...kaisi hai meri beti ab?
Nurse consoled her and told her that she was saved from the lake.
From the lake Rano was shocked to know as she knew that Geet was scared of water
How did she reach there? Dr. khurana's wife took her with her where is she ? I want to meet Dr. Khurana and his wife right now..she demanded and she did not know exactly what had happened as Maan hadn't tell anyone and police yet
Nurse informed someone to call Dr khurana..

Dr. declared Sam brought dead and the reason of death was suffocation due to drowning in to the water.. Eye witnesses, Drs. Who were with Maan when Maan received Sam's call, whole staff of the hospital gave the statement in favour of Maan.. Eyewitnesses told Police that one lady who was driving the car intentionally jumped in to the lake with car while the other was crying and pleading but they did not saw clearly the face of the lady who was driving..But police got the body of Sam hanging out from the driving seat so it was very obvious that she was driving the car.. They also took the records of Maan and Sam's calls and it was very clear to them that Sameera wanted to kill Geet and she warned Maan if he could save her or not..but died herself as she could not come out of water at right time .
But the call record gave some hints about Maan and Geet relations too as his wife was again and again talking about love between Maan and Geet..
So they asked him what relation he was sharing with Geet? Maan honestly told them that he and Geet shared a very good friendship but Sam was having a doubt on him for having a relation with Geet so wanted to kill her...He also told the police that he was forced to marry Sam and many people were witness of his forced marriage..and Hospital staff gave their statement in Maan's support
He did not want Geet to be dragged in this matter as she was not at fault in it..For him he was not doing wrong by hiding his love for Geet in front of police for few reasons. Before he could tell her that he loved him he was forced in to that marriage..and second reason was he never tried to cross his limits after marrying Sam.. Neither his nor Geet's intensions were bad for each other and they were now holding a place of very good friends for each other..Though he did not accept Sam as his wife but he did not wish once to leave her or to cheat her by having any extra marital relation with Geet..Maybe they were sharing a relation which could not be given any name..

Maan who was already in guilt heard about Geet's mother and his guilt increased more..He was not getting any time to sit and think as he was busy in doing formalities with Drs and police..
He reached where Geet was admitted. His eyes fell on Rano who was sitting near her daughter and was caressing Geet's face... and calling her again and again
Geet see who is here? Open your eyes beta..Geet i know you are brave..now you are big girl..you are not scared of water hai na Geet..kuchh nahin hoga tujhe ..beta aankhen khol na..teri maa hai na tere saath..
She was recalling the incident which happened with Geet in childhood..she knew how her condition was at that time and how much efforts they did to bring her voice back..
Maan saw them and his heart was more heavy seeing Geet's mother in pain.. He held himself more responsible for it
He came near Geet's bed..tried to put his hand on Rano's shoulder to console but could not do , he cleared his throat to take her attention on him..Rano looked at him ..
Nurse-Aunty ji...Dr. Khurana
And Rano got up from her place and held Maan's collar in anger..
What did your wife do with my daughter?..Why she took her with her?..Geet always praised you that you are very nice person and doctor and see what you wife had done with her. Kya bigada tha meri beti ne aapka aur aapki wife ka?. she did not want to go with her but she took her forcefully. It was me who asked her to go. I thought her to be wife of that dr. whom Geet praises a lot.bur see . aur kya haal bana diya meri beti ka... Now stay away from my daughter.. Mera uske siwa aur koi nahin hai..I cannot lose my daughter ...I m warning you dr. Khurana ..Stay away from my daughter and ask your family too..Perhaps my daughter does not have any sense to recognise the true faces of people..That's why she is in this state
Rano was angry for keeping her daughter in so much danger and she did not know that her talks were increasing the weight of guilt on Maan's heart..
I m sorry.. I know meri wajah se hi sab hua..and I promise you that your daughter will never be in danger again..I m really sorry
Please Dr. khurana I don't need your sorry I just want you and your family to stay away..please have some mercy on me and my daughter..
He felt a lump in his throat seeing Geet still unconscious and he could understand the anger of her mother
He looked at Geet before moving out..
The case was related to a high profile doctor so the breaking news hit the TV sets of the city as well as the country.. Sam's parents heard that and rushed to Mumbai to see what was going there.. dadi too saw the news and came to Hospital,where she was informed about the incident.. She wanted to see Sam but the police did not allow as the post mortem was still in the process..She went to see Geet where she met with Rano and introduced herself to her
Though dadi was an old lady but Rano was a mother who had almost lost her daughter..She was worried seeing her unconscious for a long time so she became angry on her..

For a moment Rano felt bad for them but she remembered that she took her daughter to kill. Nurse was there so dadi could not talk more with Rano and could not clear her misunderstanding..
She went to meet Maan who was sitting in her cabin with closed eyes..She could see clearly how much disturb he was
Maan..she called him and he opened his eyes and seeing her in front of his eyes he could not control himself and he hugged her tightly
Dadi... I m not able to understand anything. Why did Sam do all this? Just because she knew about Geet she took her to kill her..and see what happened with her..She herself lost her life..why she was so much in anger dadi..i was not going to kick her out of my house..phir kyun kiya usne ye sab?
Maan please calm down ..sab Galati hamaari hi hai..

They heard Sam's mother's voice and looked in to that direction..
Her parents came in and her father tried to put all blames on dadi... we gave our daughter to you as i had promised to my friend to tie this knot.. but Maan did not accept her as his wife .. she was so much frustrated
Right.. Dadi was angry this time..Yes you are right ..She was really frustrated that she tried to kill an innocent girl.. I never said anything to her as I knew that she was my responsibility but she never thought anything about me or house..
Then why did you force to marry them?
Exactly I want to ask you Same. I agree that i forced them and you were there when I was forcing him ..Why did you not stop me that time? I thought that you all were happy with this alliance and it was only Maan who was not ready..i forced him just because everyone other than him was ready for this wedding. And I was feeling bad that he was going to be the reason to break his father's promise...You were the parents of Sam.. Wasn't it your duty to think about your daughter's happiness first?.. You knew it well that she would not have been happy with the man who was not interested in her but you did not try to stop me for once . If I was behaving insane then you could behave sensible..
Sam's parents understood the situation .They very well knew that Maan did not want to marry Sam but they and their daughter were ready to ignore that fact. They did not want to lose the family which was very rich .Maan was so famous and successful He had touched the height of name and fame at such a young age..Even if they had tried to search a groom like that theu could never be able to get for their daughter..and here They did not have anything to do to get such proposal as dadi was herself adamant for making Maan marry to Sam whom he did not like at all..They kept Mum even after knowing the truth and now they had paid the price of tha mistake by losing their only daughter
Dead body of Sam was handed over to Maan after all the formalities were completed..They proceeded for her funerals..
Geet came in senses after few hours and saw her mother in front of her..Rano saw her opening her eyes and she hugged her in her arms as if she was saving her from the world..she kissed her face again and again seeing her safe and fine
Geet..kaisi hai meri bachhi?
I m fine maa..she said in a meek voice..nurse saw her awake and she called dr.. Dr. came and checked her..
Sister Geet ..You are fine now.. we have cleaned your body .. and can go to your home after some rest..
Thanks Dr..Umm dr..wo Dr.Khurana's wife?
She was brought dead sister. Dr. Khuaran has taken her body for the last rituals.. Hearing this Geet's eyes filled with tears
Rano saw her sad but she was still scared of the thought of Geet to be in danger

Rano was little irritated now on Geet ..She had just come back from the clutches of death and she was insisting to see the family who was responsible for her this state. She was wondering if they had applied some magic on her daughter
But she could not scold her so asked her to go later as she herself was not strong enough to go anywhere..
The funerals were done and Maan was back ..Sam's parents left from there without saying anything dadi asked them to stay till the rituals were over but they left saying that they would do their own rituals for their daughter...
Maan and dadi were alone now and they did not have anything to talk.. Maan left to his room and dadi thought to call Geet to know her condition
Geet was sleeping due to the effects of medicines..Rano saw her phone ringing she picked up the phone and see the name of dadi on the screen
She taking a deep breath took the call..hello
Geet.. dadi called from other side
No ..I m Rano.Geet's mother.. hearing Rano's dry voice she became quiet for a moment..
But then asked ...Umm How is Geet?
She is fine..
Can I talk to her?
She is sleeping.. and please don't disturb her.. Saying this she cut the call and dadi could feel her anger in her voice..
Next day Geet felt good and she asked her mother to go to khurana house and this time Rano was angry hearing her
What magic they have done on you Geet? One member of that family tried to kill yon ad you still want to go there? I won't allow you to go there
Geet could see her mother angry and her eyes were filled with tears..Par maa.. dadi mujhse bahut pyaar karti hain..She may need me?

She did not know why but she wanted to meet Maan and dadi for once She could feel that they were in great pain..She hadn't seen him since she had fainted at Lakeside..he did not turn to see her after she Same in senses but she understood his reason for not seeing her well as he was busy in Sam's funerals but she could go to see him to meet him to talk to him
Geet ..you can not feel the pain of a mother when she sees her child in Danger...That day too dr. Khurana's wife was saying sorry to you for insulting you That means they behaved wrong with you when you were in that house..jab wahaan teri izzat nahin hai to kyun jana chahti hai beta..
Maa.. please.. Geet could not give any genuine reason to Rano to convince her,.She could not even tell anything about Maan right now
She could only request her mother but Rano was not ready to listen and in anger she gave her final verdict
Theek hai Geet if you want to go then you can but you have to walk over my dead body to go there.
Maaa,... Geet shouted with horror..

Geet helplessly looked at her mother..
After sometime Geet once again asked her mother...Maa I m not asking to go there..I promise maa jab tak tum nahin kahogi main nahin jaaungi.. But maa please let me talk to her once..I promise I won't talk to her again..Just once maa..she is very old...she did not do any harm to me..
Rano sighed deep and nodded her head..Just once..and Geet smiled sadly..
Geet went in to her room and first he called Maan...
She dialled his no and she heard the bell going on his phone,,She waited for the call to be picked up but it did not happen,. She dialled one more time but this time she heard the computer telling her that the no was busy..
Maan who was sitting with closed eyes in his study heard the phone ringing..He saw Geet's name ..He took the phone in his hand and looked at her name till the phone rang and soon the ring went off.. He moved his finger on her name on the screen...
Sorry Geet..your mother was right..Perhaps I m the one who again and again was putting you in the pool of pain and hut..I can only give you pain and only pain..He saw the phone ringing again but this time he cut the call..
Geet seeing no response from him called dadi and dadi picked up the call-Geet..kaisi ho beta? I m really very sorry .I don't want to say bad words about Sam now.. but I m really sorry for whatever she did with you

I was never angry on you dadi so no question of forgiving you..and dadi..I may not be calling you again nor I will come to your house

Dadi smiled sadly after Geet cut the call... Geet was standing at the Same place where Maan was standing when she forced him to marry Sam..But she could not talk about it right now as they had lost the dil of the house and society had some rules too ..so she decided to wait for some time
Geet could not control herself and tears started to flow.. She was feeling so helpless that time..She wanted to go to him to console him but she was helpless
At night dadi told Maan about Geet's call ..Maan was sitting silent..
She was telling me that her mother has bound her in promise not to come here .. Dadi informed him
She is right dadi..Which mother would want to send her daughter to the house of a killer..she had almost lost her daughter who was her only support in this world and maybe it's good for Geet too..
Maan what are you saying? How can u..
I m saying what is the truth dadi..what she got after I entered her life? Nothing but only pain and heart breaks..she could not live normally even for a day since she was connected to us.. to uske liye wahi achha hai ki wo mujhse aur iss ghar se dur rahe..saying this he left..
Dadi looked at his retreating figure and sighed deeply..She knew that it wasn't the right time to talk about all this as it was just a second day of Sam's death..
After the rest of one more day Geet resumed her duties ..other staff were going to Khurana house to pay their visit to mourn at demise of Maan's wife but Geet could not go there. They thought that she did not want to go because she was tried to be killed by Sam so she was scared to got there..But her heart was very restless as she could not see him..he still hadn't joined back..she could not do anything other than waiting for him to join his duty back and after 13 days of mourn Maan joined his duty..
Geet's heart jumped with joy to see him back. She wished him but he without replying her went towards his room..Geet was surprised to see him but shrugged her thoughts thinking that he might have not seen her..till lunch he did not come out of his room as his mind was still not in the state to treat his patients and Geet was busy in her duty..
At lunch time
Geet was in dilemma if she should go to see Maan or not..Her mother was still firm on her stand and hadn't allow her to talk Maan or dadi..
But her heart wanted to see him once and talk to him.. Which did not wanted to do anything else other than seeing him once..and she gave logics to her mind..Maa have banned me from going to his house but here he is doctor and I m nurse..so we both are on duty and it's not wrong to talk to a doctor on duty. We work together and we cannot avoid each other. Hai na?
Haan Geet this is right ..her heart supported her..Dil Hi To hai ..it has its own logic to justify anything
Geet knocked at the door of his room and he knew who it was..He was looking in to some papers.
Come in
Geet entered his room with her thudding heart..
Sir..she called him and he closed his eyes hearing her voice..It worked like a rain on his burning heart which was burning with pain and guilt..he did not want her to come near him but his heart felt at peace after listening to her voice..Dil Hi To Hai which wants to beat with happiness but circumstanced try to make it sad..
She put the coffee in front of him..Coffee sir..
She waited for him to respond but seeing him not responding her heart sank and she turned to go..
Geet..he called her when he saw her going back..
She turned and looked at him with happy expressions as is she got her life back
From tomorrow you don't need to bring coffee for me..
Ji?? She was shocked ..But why sir?
Because I m saying it..I don't want to see you around me from now...and Geet thought as if she had heard something wrong ..Her heart which was jumping with joy few minutes later was shattered now in to millions of pieces
Maan was looking at her..He could see her face expressions turning from joy in to shock then in to sorrow
What did I do sir that you are so angry on me?
Geet I m not bounded to reply your every question.. If I m asking you not to come here again then follow it..Don't forget that I m a doctor and you are a nurse and you have to follow whatever I ask you to do..
Tears rolled down on her cheeks without her permission.. She did not try to wipe them..
She asked him in a shaky voice..Nurse to main pahle bhi thi na sir..so what's new now.
Maan who was controlling hardly himself to be tough ,turned towards another side to hide his own pain
That was my mistake that I gave you that much space..Now I have realised that I was wrong..So I want to correct myself..kyunki agar maine tumhen utni azaadi nahin di hoti to ye sab nahin hua hota jo hua.. I knew I did wrong by encouraging you because I knew it from the start that dadi wanted me to marry Sam..
He turned at looked at her ..She was looking at her wide eyes..She was not able to believe that he was saying all this to her..Maan pushed himself more and gave the final blow
If you were not in my life then even after forced in that marriage I would have accepted Sam after initial anger and frustration.. If I had accepted Sam then she would not have felt jealous of you and tried to kill you.. if you were not in my life Geet then she would have been living with me ..Me you and Sam might be living happily in our world..But I did wrong by giving you that space in my life.. Now I don't want to repeat my mistake again so ..please go from here ..and don't turn again...
Saying this he turned his face as he himself was breaking many times saying those words to her..his own words were falling in his ears like some melting lava then he could understand her condition..
His jaws were tightly closed to control himself..He knew that he had ruined everything between her and him but it was needed as he did not want her to chose any of them between her mother and him..
He could feel a dead silence behind him.. when he did not feel any movement he turned saying ..I said leave..but she was not there..She had left.. She had left from there taking her every allegation on her heart..
He fell down on his chair and cursed himself for breaking her like that..
I m sorry Geet.. Perhaps we are not for each other..
His eyes fell on the coffee who had turned icy cold..He picked that cup in her hand and sipped it..May it was the last coffee from her..Becuase he hadn't left any option for her to turn towards him again..
Geet did not came in front of him in next few days..as she kept changing her duty with other nurse when she was given the duty with Maan..she was doing mostly night duties and Maan was at hospital during the day..
Maan though was missing her a lot.. Her tearful eyes and face were haunting him day and night but he held her heart in control.. He did not try to see or ask anyone about her..
Dadi one day asked about Geet and he replied her with a dry response..I don't know
What do you mean by I don't know..Maan?
I don't know means I DONT KNOW dadi.
Maan her mother has banned her from talking to me,,I thought you are with her in hospital and knew about her.. I was also thinking to meet her mother once

Nahin dadi..please.. everything is very complicated right now and you don't make it more complicated..and I have asked Geet to stay away from me..ab se mera koi lena dena nahin uske saath..I hope you won't do anything if you want to live all of us in peace
Dadi stood numb there..what was happening in with them..Her one mistake had turned so many lives in hell..

One night Maan received a call from the Hospital..There was some emergency and he rushed towards the hospital.. The other doctor was on leave so he was called...
Maan went in to see the patient..He asked the family members of the patient to stay out and keep patience till he checks the patints...Maan asked the ward boy who had brought the patient Who else is on duty tonight?
Sister Geet..and the name of Geet made him to look at ward boy..he was blanked for some seconds then asked him to call her..
Maan was in OT. He had done some quick tests on patient and the patient needed some minor surgery urgently..
Geet entered the OT and Maan looked at her and he was shocked to see her..She was not the same Geet any more..The evergreen smile from her face had vanished.. Her eyes were lifeless.. Her face had lost the charm which she had to carry and brought smile on other faces..
Geet after taking her mouth cover turned and her eyes fell on him..Mana could see a shine of happiness in her eyes for a moment..She stared at him for a moment with a smile as if she had seen her life in front of her and then she remembered his words and the shine in her eyes was replaced with that gloominess again..Maan could see her eyes blurred with tears..
Maan moved towards her but she stepped back and cleaned her eyes...
Patient is waiting for you doctor..She reminded him in a very professional way and Maan came in senses..
He started to do his work and Geet followed his instructions..After the surgery was done..she left from there to call the family of the patient. Maan came out and told them that the patient was out of the danger for now and they would see in to the matter next day with consulting the other doctors..
He came back where Geet was taking care of the patient..He cleared his throat to take her attention.. He could not have the courage call her by her name..Geet looked at him ..
And sad thinking that he did not want to take her name now..
He instructed her for the patient and she nodded hearing that..Maan was looking at her while instructing her ..She was looking in to her chart. He so much wanted her to look at him but she did not look even for a once..
Maan left and heard her voice..Good night Doctor.. He one more time turned towards her in hope to look in to her eyes but she was not looking at her ..
He left from there with heavy heart..and after he left Geet looked at his back with teary eyes..
Next day
Maan declared in front of dadi that they would be shifting to Delhi leaving Mumbai for ever
What??? Dadi was so shocked
Delhi? But why Maan?
Dadi they are requesting me from a long time..I think It's a good opportunity and that is the Research Centre too along with the Hospital..He would be getting more opportunities to know about more complicated heart diseases
And what about Geet?
I have already told you dadi to forget about her..sabke liye yahi achha hai waran koi khush nahin rahega..
And he moved towards his study..
Dadi thought for a while ..No Maan... Nothing was good til now...Now I have to do something..I have already ruined many lives for one promise ..now I won't let it happen again for another promise..I have to do something..I will have to amend my mistake
Precap-Epilogue (Action, confrontation, confession and the celebration)
I know it well that it was a sad and heartbreaking update..but I could not jump directly on Maaneet after giving such a tragic end of the last update.. So I tried to do justice with all the character..Dadi needs to do correct her mistakes..Geet's mother was not given any place in this story.. Maan's guilt i think was logical..Geet's helplessness was to show that she loved him as they hadn't said anything about their love for each other so this update showed there feelings for each other..I did not want the Epilogue to be sad so I have given this PRE EPILOGUE😃
