Zombie in an unequal relationship

There is no real chemistry between Maya and Arjun.

What we are seeing is Maya always telling how much she loves Arjun and always getting physical with him. And Arjun accepting her overtures sometimes condescendingly, sometimes reluctantly.
He is more like a protective friend to her than a lover.

Their relationship is not well defined. Sometimes Arjun has upper hand but Maya uses emotional manipulation to keep him in place. She wants a trained dog to be at her beck and call. Another untrained dog Samay pointed it out to her. She behaves as if she does not get it and she does not want to get it. Or she wants it that way. Otherwise she will lose her dog.

Stand up, sit down, sleep, eat and make love. These are the commands she is using on her trained dog.

Arjun in that big house with Maya and her mute mother and without any solid work to do, just eat, sleep and obey commands.

He does not want his quiet life to be disturbed by his mother or Saanjh.

The couple dont have social life and no friends visiting them. There are no servants seen at home. Invisible hands cook the food, clean the house.

Arjun has turned into a zombie.
