How exactly does Jake Ball become MoM? It should either have been Liam Plunkett for his 4 wickets, or Josh Buttler for anchoring the innings w/ 61*

Looks like they are basing the man of the match on the person who pulled off a key breakthrough, or turning point, as opposed to the person who exerted his weight throughout the batting and/or bowling innings.

That also explains how Yuvi got it in the Paki match instead of Rohit Sharma.
