Dream...
Everyone no matter who they are ... or how small, big or outrageous their dreams are... are entitled to dream.
and everyone deserves to live that dream.
And the basic dream that everyone has... is to be someone.
you don't have to go out and win the world to be that someone.
you can just sing your heart out to be that someone... maybe not on the mega stage... just your home and for you God.
you are entitled to live this little dream. or are you?
She wasn't.
We can call her a failed mother for failing to protect her younger son, for not standing up for him... for not seeing him. for failing him.
but she is the same woman who was made to think of herself as a failure.
as someone who is not allowed to have an identity of her own.
someone who will forever remain someone else's shadow.
someone who is not allowed to live her dream.
someone who is not allowed to dream at all.
Children dream. and they dream a lot. it takes special parents who make those dreams their own. and then they give it all and make those dreams come true. for their children.
Today i have seen some special children... making their mother's dream their own. ... and making that dream come true.
To just let her sing. To be with her music. To be herself.
Poignantly beautiful.
from her tears of guilt and happiness seeing her instruments from time long gone... the same instruments she probably lived her dreams with.
from her scared visage when she was told to honour them again.
from her stammering that she can't dare to sing or touch music again.
from her drawing her strength from the engulfing hug and encouraging touch of her children... her sons and God given daughters.
from her smile to finally embracing herself.
To finally living that old forgotten dream of hers...
Beautiful journey. it just took her 25 years to take that first step.
or should i say... it took some very special children who became wing beneath the wings of the mother who wasn't allowed to fly.. and help her fly again.
If Meghna, Naina, Karan picked those slivers, shards and pieces of Nirmala's dream and stitched it back to a beautiful one and gave it back to her... it was heartwarming to see Kunal, Khyati and Vishal too joining in and making this journey of a mother.. of a woman.. All the more beautiful.
Today some very precious children gave their mother a priceless gift.
To live her dream.
To be herself.
To be that someone... who is special in her own way. Not a fleck of dust, insignificant entity, a shadow... But her own self.
