Chapter 4

shovori Woke up to the sound of the baby crying. She quickly ran to the room to make sure his alright. Parth waking up smile. Shovori is such a worried mother, he thought.

This all started after the namkaran. She was adamant to get close to their son. When the baby falls, she calls the ambulance even though he fell on his blanket. When he starts tear up, she starts to panick to the point that she wakes the whole family up. She Pampers their son a lot. Sometimes Parth wonder if their son will be a spoil baby in the future.

Getting up he decides to get dress for work. It wasn't long before Shovori walks in with a crying parkash. " Parth look, I hold him." She says excited

" yeah, but why is he still crying? "

Shoviri sadly looks down " I don't know, I guess he's still not use to me"

Parth walk up to her and kiss her forehead before holding her " just give him sometime, he will come around" he says looking at their son , who stop when he saw his father.

" I guess he just wants his father attention" he jokes.

" he loves his father more than he loves his mom. Maybe he will become a daddy little boy" she pouts

Parth laughs before grabbing his son. " mommy is jealous that I might take you away from her. What should we do to ressure. Her"

Parth says " why don't you be a good little baby, while I'm gone " the baby stare at Parth intensely before he smile. Parth smile back, but his face became a frown when he smelt something. He cring his nose before giving the baby to shovori. " his all yours" he says almost passing out.

Shovori starts to laugh " our baby is a prankster just like Teni"

As soon as she said this, they all got quiet. They wonder how she's doing. Ever since she gave birth, they haven't seen her. Shovori putting the baby on the soft blanket wonder if she's in America now living her dream.

Parth wondered the same thing. They snap out of their thoughts when their family doctor calls. She reminds Shovori to see her today with the baby.. Parth says " you get to spend a lot of time with our son, but I can't" he pouts

Shovori giggles " stop being a big baby and go to work"

Parth sulks all the way to his car. He smile at ease.while heading to work, something was nagging him to go and see Teni. He check the time, to see he has an hour before he reach the office. Deciding he made a turn and head to Teni place.

He was contemplating whether or not to enter her house. Parth now at her door felt nervous. He was about to knock, when he realize the door was open. Confuse, he calls Teni name. When he got no repsonse he enters.

The place was a mess, it was like someone came and ruin it for her. He walk around until he reached her bedroom. He pushed it slightly to see a man grinning at Teni while she was on the bed. She didn't look to good. Matter fact she look drunk. " get off" she says without much of a struggle. She was so intoxicated, she couldn't clearly see the man face.

The man says " don't play hard to get now. You wanted this when you seduced me at the club"

Teni staid quiet. The man lean down to kiss her shoulder when Parth shove him away. " didn't you hear her, leave before I call the police"

The man panicked seeing Parth built figure " calm down man, I was just helping her. She came on to me" he says backing away, before running. When the man left the house, Parth sigh with relief. " Teni" he says not to gently

Teni still drunk, got up. Her hair messy while faint on her revealing shoulder. She touch her forehead " p-pwarth " " Wwwhart. Are you dsdoing inn myhhouse " she says

Parth glares at her " are you mad Ten, what could have happened if I didn't come on time"

Teni got off the bed with a lot of struggle. She held on to the bed, but fell down laughing. Parth sigh, he March to her before holding her hand to lift her up. " why are you being so irresponsible "

Teni look at him before giggling. " yyyou ttalk Tooo mmmuch" she says before grabbing a candy from her pocket.

" stop laug-"

He never finish, when Teni shove a candy in his mouth. " their you gooo, now you can eat. Good boy" she says standing up

In Teni eyes, she could see her baby in replace of Parth. She says " bbbaby ccan twwalk, "

Parth rub his temple. He took her to the living room, before putting her on the chair. He told her to wait for a minute before getting something strong to make her sobber again. When he found what he was looking for he quickly makes it and gives it to Teni. Teni grabs it shakely Before drinking in one gulp. But she soon made a gagging nose. " what the he'll was that" she screams

Parth sitting down says " it's apple cider vinegar mix with lemon and water. It should have sobber you up already "

Teni nod, when she saw her eyes clearing up. " thank you Parth"

" your welcome, now would you like to tell me why you didn't go to America? And why you were like this in the first place."

" I don't want to talk about it, shouldn't you be at work?"

Parth sigh, she's avoiding the question, he thought. He observe her a little before deciding " I will leave now"

Teni nod sadly " don't forget to close the door"

Parth nods before closing it. He wonder what is wrong with her. He knew she wasn't acting herself. Something was definetly up. Teni watching the close door puts her head on the table while groaning. Why did he come? I thought they forgot about me already? I don't need their sympathy if that's what their doing. While thinking she didn't realize how slowly she was falling to sleep.

In Teni dream, she dreamt of her and her baby sleeping together, eating and playing. She unconsciously smile " Teni is not alone, you are my only family now" she says

Sometimes, you have to be a little selfish, in order for your dream to come true. But at the same time it makes you question yourself, if it was worth it. all three will soon find the answer to that question. So until next time, good bye.

Teni is scene depress, drinking wine, Parth stops and hold her, telling her to stop before she passes out.

" Im not going back to work. Being a mother is a fool commitment "

Parth seeing Teni at the bar says " I want you to become his nanny"

" what?" She says surprise

Shovori was pacing back in forth, waiting on her husband to come home. Ever since the call, Parth haven't picked up his phone call. She was tense because it wasn't like him to be so careless. But than again, the last time he was careless was when teni was in their life.

A six month pregnant teni was dancing in her house. Shovori and Parth had told her to take care of herself , but she was bored.

Teni attempts to dance a flashy song that consist of lots of body movement. Apparently the baby like it too. While dancing, she fell on her back. Teni holding her side, laughs " I guess it's time for me to stop"

Just than she heard her name " TENi!!" Parth yells

Teni turn to see an angry Parth coming to her. He bends down to check if she was fine. He touch her stomach to feel the baby before looking at her. " what we're you trying to do? You and the baby could have been hurt. " he says

Teni feeling guilty apologized " I was just giving what the baby wanted." She mumbles.

Parth sigh " we have to go to the doctor for a check up"

Teni panicks " checkup" she mumbles recalling the needle. She shook her head to say no.

Parth tells her, if she won't come for the checkup than he will not give her the food she asked for. Teni emotional starts to wail. Saying things like he would starve a pregnant women .

Parth says " OK, you win. The mangoes is in the car. I will give you some, but I know where we can get more. "

Teni stops crying. Parth helps her get up, while doing so, she almost dragged him back down. When they arrived in the car. Parth helps her with seat belt. It was hard at first, but with a lot of struggle they manage.

Teni happily eats mangoes. Just than Shovori calls. " hello?"

" Parth, how is Teni? Is she taking care of our baby"

Parth look at Teni for a quick second, he didn't know if he should tell shovori what happened earlier. " she's fine, I'll talk to you later" he says, it wasn't really a lie. He just didn't want her to worry too much, he thought.

When they reach the hospital, Parth turn to Teni. " OK we're here"

Teni was quiet. Parth asks her what's wrong, Teni says " my back, is paining me. I can't move"

" what do You mean? " he question, now panicking.

Teni with mood swings, starts to panick. Parth saw her lip wobbling and her eyes getting watery. "My mangoes!" She cries " I won't be able to get it now"

Parth asks her to stop her tears, he says he will take her to her mangoes. That definitely stop her. Parth says in head. That fall must have done something to her, I have to take her to the doctor fast.

Parth got out the car and walk to the other side. He opens Teni door. And unbuckled Her seat belt. Teni watch him. Grabbing his out stretched hand, Parth help her out.

Teni wince, she says she can't walk. Parth told her to hold on. The next thing she knew, she was being carried by Parth. Surprise she stare at him. Parth says " hang on, this is quicker"

Teni nods. She says in head, this man would do anything for his baby. What a macho man, she smile. " by the way Parth, where's Shovori?"

Parth struggling says " she's at home, dadaji and dadi feels, she shouldn't go out while six month pregnant. So she told me to come check on you"

Teni nods, she look ahead when she saw the doctors. " Parth, this is the hospital." she tense.

" I know"

" where's my mangoes?"

" I told jalap to bring some for me"

This made her worries go away.

While they entered jalap voice, they didn't notice sejal watching them. Confuse she wonder, who the girl, Parth was with. She quickly took a picture, before saying she will show Shovori.

Many hour pass, and Shovori at home, wonder why Parth won't pick up. She stare at herself in the mirror while watching the fake baby bump. She smile while imaging herself actually pregnant. " soon you will come into the world" she says happily

Dadi smile while knocking " you must be extremely happy. "

Shovori quickly wrap her stomach. " yes I am".

" I was that way too, excited to be a mother. It was a long journey, but it was all worth it. Soon you will have a connection with your baby, that connection will never die. Some people are lucky enough to have a baby who feels their mother emotions even when their born."

Shovori tense " I hope I can have that connection than"

Dadi laughs " why wouldn't you, it had already started since you started showing"

Shovori smile " yeah"

Once Dadi left, she tried calling Parth again, but still he didn't answer. She says in head this is not like Parth.

When Parth arrives at their room, he sigh. Shovori bombs him with many question. Parth tired says " not now shovori "

" what's wrong Parth?"

Parth changing says " I just need to rest"

Shovori says " something must have happend"

" Shovori enough, OK, just stop" he say now getting in the bed

Shovori tense, she wonder what has caused him to be so upset. Getting in the bed, she recalls Teni. She touch his shoulder before asking " did you go to Teni place"

Parth open his eyes " I did"

Shovori tense. " why?" She says quietly

This time Parth turn to her " I wanted to see how she was doing."

" but why Parth, she got what she wanted. And we got ours. She's in america, so why go to her place"

Parth didn't know if he should tell her, what he saw when he arrived there. He sat up " she didn't go to america shovori "

" what why?"

" even I don't know, but when I confronted her about it, she was angry. She wasn't the same Teni, we remembered. She looked broken"

" so is that why you didn't answer the phone or come home early"

" yes and no"

This confused her, she was about to ask a question when Parth took out a gift box. Shovori look at him, Parth told her to open the big box.

When she did, she gasp. Their in the box we're picture frame of her holding parkash. Some of the image she didn't know he took. " we will hang it downstairs. I asked a photographer to take our picture tomorrow. It will be hanging by the stair case wall, where it all started."

Shovori speechless hugs Parth. " this is great Parth, I don't know what to say"

Parth hugs her, " don't say anything " he says.

Chapter 7

Ever since parth realized teni didn't go to America, he's been checking up on her before going to work. Not once did she step out of her house. He realize she's been locked up in their for weeks. He was really worried.

Sitting in his car, he contemplate whether to go in her house or not. He knew he wouldn't be welcome even if he did because some how teni hates him. He didn't want to think about that, I mean teni was his friend, she became important to them ever since the baby. We kept our promise and she did hers, so than why did things end up this way.

While thinking, parth remember when they went to the temple to feed the children.

Flashback

A very disturbed teni was complaining about being waking up early in the morning. Shovori says, " it won't take long, we just need to give offering to the homeless. ".

" offering?" teni says Before thinking, these people will give money to children, but not teni. Maybe I should ask for mine first before it's gone. She was brought out of her thoughts when parth spoke.

" it's a big blessing, this would be the first time the baby will experience this, and I believe it will be yours too" he says looking at the mirror to see her.

Teni pouting says in head. I rather have them giving me money instead of giving it away. When they arrived, Shovori got out of the car with parth. Teni looking like a beach ball, tries getting out, but fail because of her stomach, she starts to speak to the baby, saying he doesnt want to go either. She says " OK, we will stay in the car"

Just than parth extended his hand to her. She frown looking at him, while Shovori tries to hide her laugh. " come teni, I'll help you"

Sighing, she extended her hand and allowed him to help. Teni after the help, puts a hand on her stomach and back while walking. when they reached near the temple. Teni watch as children ran to parth and shovori, greeting them. So they come here often, she thought.

Parth and Shovori smile and great them. Shovori says she bought a special gift today, the children became curious. Parth took out some clothes for them. Before saying their going to the amusement park.

The children happy, started chatting loudly. teni tired of standing walk to the temple stairs to sit down. She stop when she noticed a boy with one arm. He was sad while looking at them. Teni wonder what's his problem.

Sitting, she ignored the little boy, suddenly the boy started sniffing. Teni tried hard to ignore, really she did. But the boy sudden crying irked her. " hey, why are you disturbing me"

The boy crying, look at teni. " I can't go to the amusement park"

Teni confuse asked why,the boy says " the other children said not to show my face because I am disgusting to look at."

Teni frown " why would they say that?"

The boy points at his hand that wasn't their. Teni sigh, she didn't think that children could be so heartless. But then she recall herself earlier saying she rather have money than to give. She look at parth and Shovori now feeding the dressed up children.

Than she look at the boy. Getting up, she walk to the bag with clothes and realize theirs no more. Frowning she asked, if theirs anymore, Shovori says no. Parth asks to join them. Teni scoff and walk away. Shovori says " where is she going?"

" I don't know"

" we should follow her" she says worried

" someone has to look after the food"

Shovori looking at the children says she will do it. Parth hugs her before going after Teni. When he caught up, he asked her if she's really unhappy being around children. Teni recall the little boys word. Her face darken, those children are ungreatful.

" why would you say that?"

Teni staid quiet. Parth confused wonder why she would say that about the children. He watch as Teni, walk to a store and bought a traditional suit. This confuse Parth. She turn to leave, when she bump into someone. " I'm sorry" she says before walking away, Parth worried, asks if she was alright. She nod.

While walking, the two didn't see the tall man dressed in a nice violet suit, staring at them with surprise.

" twinkle?" He mumbles
