Shivaay was having the time of his life. Teasing and flirting with Annika was beyond anything he had envisioned-with her blushing cheeks, quivering lips, and widened eyes, she was a vision to behold. When he had placed his hand on her thigh and that delicious gasp had escaped her lips, Shivaay couldn't help but be proud of himself. Proud of the fact it was him, and only him, who could do this to Annika.
He was still gloating in victory when suddenly, he felt Annika's hand on his thigh too. The sudden touch caught him off-guard, and he started coughing, spitting out the food from his mouth.
"What happened to YOU now, Billu? Dadi called out.
"Yes, what happened, Billuji? Annika asked with a look so innocent, anyone would be deceived.
"Nothing Dadi! Shivaay called out while glaring at Annika. Her hands where lightly, but surely, grazing over his leg. Shivaay's face turned red when he realized that her hand was inching closer and closer to...
"Oh God, Annika!, He groaned out. "Don't start something you won't be able to finish.
Annika only smiled victoriously. Who knew giving him a taste of his own medicine would be so much fun!
"Wait till I get you alone, my love. You have no idea what I'll do to you then...
It was again Annika's turn to blush, and she instantly removed her hand from his upper thigh.
"IF you get me alone, you mean. She said while getting up, and before Shivaay could comprehend what was happening, she had already run away to the kitchen. He was about to get up and chase her too, when the shrill noise of "Shivaay Babyyy reached his ears, making him cringe.
Tia had just walked in through the front gate, her voice drawling out for unnecessarily long, as usual. Wearing a long, bottle green gown, she looked every inch the high-society princess she had been brought up to be, but now, looking at her gave Shivaay nothing but michmichis, with a twinge of guilt. It didn't sit well with him that he was cheating on her after being together for almost 3 years, but this faade would have to continue for a while till he made sure that the breakup wouldn't affect his business whatsoever.
"Hi tia, he managed to give her a fake smile, and was about to leave the hall, when she walked right up to him and gave him a peck on his cheek. This wasn't unlikely of her, and Shivaay usually ignored these small gestures of affection, but as he saw Annika emerging from the kitchen from the corner of his eyes, his evil mind riled up. Lightly keeping a hand on Tia's waist, he places two soft pecks on Tia's cheeks. The wide smile that appeared on Tia's face was ignored by Shivaay; his eyes were only on Annika, who stood frozen in her spot. Her eyes looked ready to spit fire, and her mouth was twisted in such an adorable frown that Shivaay had an incredible urge to just go and kiss her senseless. But that wouldn't do, since the reason he had kissed Tia in the first place had been to see the jealous, possessive side of his girl, which he thought made her look damn hot.
On the other side, Annika was absolutely fuming.
How dare that Baggad Billa! He gets all furious when I even mention other guys, and now he's kissing Ms. Reiki?AAARGHH!
She was brought out of her thoughts as Tia addressed her directly.
"Annika, sweetheart, would you mind coming up with me and looking through the dress designs? Pinky aunty wants me to finalize EVERYTHING by today, and I just don't know what to do!
Annika walked past Shivaay without a second glance.
"Don't worry, Tia. I'll help you. Come on, let's go.
With that, both the ladies went upstairs, leaving a rejoicing Shivaay.
Oh, how fun is it going to be when I finally get Annika alone...
"Bhaiya!
Rudra had just walked into the hall, and advanced towards his brother in his usual, cheerful manner. However, as he got close, he let out a dramatic gasp.
"What happened to you? Shivaay turned towards him with an annoyed look.
"What happened to ME?What happened to YOU, bhaiya?Why are you smiling to yourself? This is the kind of smile I have when I see a hot girl in college! Don't hide from me now, bhaiya, who were you thinking of?
"What do you mean, Rudra, ofcourse he's thinking about Tia! Pinky said playfully from where she had sat down beside Dadi.
While Rudra frowned at hearing LadyBaba's name, Shivaay cleared his throat.
"It's nothing like that, okay?I wasn't smiling. I don't smile. I mean, I don't smile because of stupid things. Now if you all will excuse me, I need to leave for office.
Then doing his trademark hairflick, he left the Mansion.
Hmm, something really seems to be up with bhaiya. I should talk to O about it. Rudra too was about to leave the hall, when Dadi called him to her.
"Yes, Dadi? He said while going to sit beside her.
"Wait, um, Pinky, Tia and Annika have gone upstairs to finalize the dresses. You should go and help them too.
"Oh my mata, mummyji, I'd completely forgotten! I'll go there right away.
It was only when Pinky was completely out of earshot that Dadi turned to Rudra.
"I think I have some good news for you. She told him with a playful glint in her eyes.
"What is it, Dadi? Is another of your friend's granddaughter coming to stay here with us? He asked her eagerly.
"Areh khoteya, it's not about you. It's about Billu. I have a feeling, that soon, you will get the bhabi of your choice!
Rudra's face fell.
"Come on, dadi. Even I know that bhaiya is getting married in a while, and even you know that that Lady Baba is definitely NOT the bhabi of my choice!
"But Annika is, right? She asked with a warm, mischievous smile.
"Yeah but what does that-"
Suddenly, Rudra's face lit up.
"Waaait. Are you trying to tell me that Bhaiya and Annika didi.. He then winked twice and nudged her shoulder to imply what he meant.
Dadi laughed heartily, and nodded her head.
"If my intuition is correct, then yes, your bhaiya and Annika didi..
Rudra jumped up from the sofa in excitement and started dancing around.
"Yaaayyy Dadi I'm so so happy at this news! Wait till I go and tell O!
With that he ran towards Om's room, getting weird glances from his dad and chotepapa who had just walked in.
Dadi only smiled after him, and sent a small prayer to the Gods. If her intuition was indeed right, then Billu and Annika had taken the first step in their relationship. But they still had a long way to go, and she could only hope that everything went smoothly for the two lovebirds.

Shivaay was busy in his office, surrounded by all the paperworks and files of their business with the Kapoors. He was looking through each and every detail with utmost concentration, to figure exactly how much loss their firm would incur due to the breaking of the deal, and trying to minimize it. He was being helped by his PA Mishra, who he trusted enough to inform of the situation.
It was while he was engrossed with a certain file regarding one of their business ventures, that his phone pinged, notifying him of a new message. He absentmindedly opened it, but his attention was grabbed as soon as he saw Annika's name. He had sent her a message a while back, simply asking what she was doing. It had been too long since he had talked to her, so he hadn't been able to resist texting her.
A- What do you think I'm doing? Helping your FIANCE with her dresses, ofcourse. :)
Shivaay smiled.
So she's still angry over the stunt I pulled in the morning, huh. Well, I'm sure I'll be able to persuade her in no time.
He was about to reply, when something in the file he was holding caught his eye. It was about a small project in Singapore they had undertaken with the Kapoor family a few months back, something he hadn't been able to look into extensively because of its insignificance. However, now that he turned towards it and read the whole contract, his face left all its colour.
Whereas the Kapoor's were supposed to have many assets in Singapore, the contract clearly indicated that their bank balance there was zero.
What Mishra said next disconcerted him even more.
"Sir, I didn't know Tia Ma'am's full name was 'Tia Dushyant Raj'?
This chapter was low on romance, sorry guys, but it was necessary to set the plot for the rest of the story. But don't worry, loads of romance and nok-jhok coming up in the next chapters!
