Why Rani Mukherji hasn't received Padma Shri?

I don't about others but I find really surprising that Rani still hasn't been honoured with Padma Shri. I don't know what's the "exact" criteria to receive this award. So many established A-List actresses who've had debuted much later than her (Vidya, PC etc.) have been honored with it. She's considered as one of the most
high-profile and best acting talents of last 20-25 years, then why she hasn't? What could be the reason? Share your thoughts!

Manisha , Bebo hasn't received it either. 😛

Plus Sridevi had to wait until 2013 to receive her PadmaShri.

Rani's considered in much higher scale as an actress compared to Bebo and Manisha. Also, she's received commercial success too. Not saying Padma Shri decides any X,Y,Z actor's talent but its kinda surprising when actresses who've debuted around 2003/05, have already received but not her.

I don't know about other fields but amongst Indian Actors, I think Vidya is the first ever recipient to get Padma Shri in just 9yrs after her debut. Earlier it was Smita Patil (she had received it on the 10th year).

Quite commendable!

Hahaha. She's not a veteran yet. 😆 But you know what, earlier actor/actresses used to receive lifetime achievement award (when they were around 45-48).

It happens only in India where a rookie like Rajeev Gandhi can receive the most prestigious Bharat Ratna ahead of the great and accomplished people like Ambedkar and Sardar Patel! Rani kya cheez hai when compared to all these legends who never got their due...

Bebo for what?

Rani needs to win. She is the most deserving recipient... One of the best!

So surprising government has never acknowledged her. Neither with PadmiShri or National Award.

Why did Rajeev Gandhi received it? what has he done for our country? I think Congress was the ruling party at that time. 😆
