Let me give a situation.

Your best friend suddenly brings in a guy and tells that she's getting married to him within a week. You are a bit astounded but you trust your best friend and her choice and you be fine with it. Suddenly that very night you get a phone call from another of your friend who is hardly your friend though because you know she's engaged in some antisocial activities time and again. You mostly avoid her but somehow pick up her call that night. She almost gasping tells you, " please prevent your best friend from marrying that man. He will bring hell into her life. He's got a tremendous past and he ..." , the line disconnects. You are horrified. You call your friend and she brushes you aside saying, " You already know how she's. You are trusting her more than me and my choice? "
You are calmed a bit.
The next day the last night phone caller gets murdered.

Now tell me, how many of you being 'you' would not suspect the new man in your best friend's life? How many of you being normal, won't suspect he's got something to do with the murder? How many of you will let your best friend marry him without thinking twice?

This hypothetical situation demands some situational answers from forum wasiyos. I would like to get an insight of what you think. I only need answers to the above three questions. You can answer pointwise if at all interested.

This is a hypothetical question, so my answer is also going to be in accordance to that and wouldn't necessary comply to what I'd do in real life if God forbid, I'm put into the situation as 'you' or worse, my friend being put into that situation. I'd trust my own intuition than my best friends word and try to first talk to her. If she dismisses my concerns due to obvious reasons, I'd let it be at that. But since its my best friend and I can't possibly do nothing, I'd run some background checks on the guy if I can. If I get my hands on something concrete enough, I'd bring up the subject again. Even after that if my friend still dismisses it all then there's nothing much I could do to stop them from getting married apart from letting someone from her family know about what I got to know. I'd then prefer to keep in touch with my friend, have her back and watch it out for her just in case she ends up needing any support.

Purely my opinion:
Considering that this dead friend isn't quite reliable and there isn't any proof, I wouldn't readily believe what she says. But I'll pass on the info to my friend who is getting married to take the decision for herself. Now if I strongly feel that the dead person was right, I'd try to verify if there is any truth. If I find that there is some truth to the dead person's claims then I'll confront my friend with the proof and let her take the decision. Beyond this I don't think there is anything I can or should do.

The thing is if this is real life and not a show where we as viewers can easily judge characters, then mere suspicions or feelings aren't enough to suspect or write off a person or even negatively influence a friend's decision. If by chance I end up being wrong then I would have ended up ruining two peoples' lives. And if I was right about my suspicions and didn't do enough to persuade the friend, then my friend would end in trouble. In real life, it's difficult to take decisions in such a situation.

Thus according to both of you, being a friend even and not a family, it's not possible to sit idly and accept everything that's coming ,rather than believing that something might go wrong! And what if the 'you' here is a mother? And the best friend her son, the random guy her would be daughter in law and the friend who died her son's would be father in law?

^^ Agreed with Stephy completely as well. Since we aren't actually put into such a situation, it's not quite possible to make the right call. Even in real life, its an extremely difficult situation to be in. As for what a mother or family or friend should have done, they'd obviously do and act according to what they think or feel is right based on whatever basis they have because is their family/friend and they can't possibly do nothing. It's only because we're the viewers do we know everything and that helps us in determining who should have done what.

That's it.
We can keep guessing what could have been done in a hypothetical situation. But when it comes to real life, it becomes real difficult to handle situations ideally. A series is a hypothetical situation too. But since a series is so fervently dissected , like the characters are real, it should be once thought, imo, that if I was in that place, would I myself be extremely aloof or tolerant?
On the other hand if the series is considered too hypothetical, we should stop thinking of what COULD have been. Because anything could have been. Favourable. Much unfavourable than what has become.

Res!!!"!
Unres !!!
First think to do is I will warn my ftiend 2)watch if someone is stalking her if iys yes then i will take hrelp of the nearest police station3)increase the secutitu pf the biilding she stays bcoz since the caller is included in anti social message i won't trust her but listen to her catefully.4)install cctv's wherever possible 5)if still it continues inform all the prople in the vicinitu to check who is the stalker?may be smeone we know!""$o all will keep a watch!!!change the sim ..

no...
The caller gets murded next day immediately i will inform the police.since the person died indforming the hinting us we can't inform her warning...which means she was correct
if that petson calls again ,using true caller system,or tapping the phone we can find his area and location if it shows the same plays as ours.Yhe person is a lnown person.next comes confrontation and i will tell my friend to call him at a cafe and tell him sge is alone buy all pploce people woll be in civil dress
i will tell my friend to keep the mobile obnoxious in confetence mode.we all will observe his behavioir if he is the one trobling my friend, then i will tell her to give me a hint.bcomz even if he loves my friend his love turned to obssession now.so its better she nreak this relationship!!!!
Ps this ostensibly puerly my opinion ,many people may agree or some disagree, healthy debate is fine but plz don't make a warzone here.its a request!!"""""""!!!!!!"

Of course I'd become defensive and try to warn my friend. And I'd rather form my own opinion about the person intead of basing it upon people's view. I'd run a background check on the person and inform my friend if I find something concrete about the guy.
But in the context of the show, you have to consider that Vandana's opinion on Maya was based of off 'apshaguns' and predictions and ONE incident. I myself have a habit of breaking stuff when I'm angry. Many people do. That doesn't mean that the person is absoulutely evil. Also Ashwin isn't some unreliable guy, he's the guy who beat up his 9 year old daughter and his wife. I don't think I'd trust the words of an abuser like him. But I would still do my own background check and act if I find something concretely damning which Vandana didn't. She expected Arjun to leave his fianc/ wife based on her own intution and beliefs which is a bit too much to expect even from a normal person and Arjun is a known brainless git.

Unfortunately POVs change according to real life and characters people fangirl over. 😆 In real life people would do exactly the same thing as Vandana and Saanjh but still blame them in shows because they love Maya. In real life they would hate Maya type person but in the show she is worshipped. 😆 We like Maya's charming personality but in real life we miss that and see just the creepy side of the mad person.
