Shivaay Ki Anika
Prologue
You will never be able to move forward; we will never be able to move forward until you know my naam, khoon and khandaan. This matters to you, Shivaay. This is who you are; you need information about everyone.' Shivaay looked stricken as Anika kept on speaking about how she has realized that knowing her background is important for him and their relationship.
All he wanted to do was to tell her that it all didn't matter to him anymore. Her family, background; nothing mattered to him now because she was all he wanted. He had only been introduced to a fraction of what Anika has been through in her life and it had left him tormented; sucked the life out of him. However, he was not going to be stuck on the past, like Rudra had said, he would make sure that Anika would get every happiness in the world; he would make sure that nothing disturbed her ever.
But, right now, as he heard Anika voice out what sounded similar to his own inner voice a few days ago; Shivaay found himself speechless, yet he tried, Anika, it is not like that. I have ...' She cut him off, No, Shivaay. You don't need to justify yourself. I have decided that if this is what you want, then it's okay. You do whatever you want but can you promise me something?'
Anika had given this a lot of thought as she had looked at Shivaay sleeping beside her in the backseat as Khannaji sped them away back to Mumbai after their little adventure in the jungle. She had realized that she meant more than just a responsibility to Shivaay but at the same time she knew that for them to move forward in this relationship they had to be on the same page; and, even though Shivaay would always be by her side but he would never be able to forget that he has no information about his wife. The SSO in her Shivaay would get in between, every now and then. And, so she had decided.
Dazed, Shivaay simply nodded and Anika hesitantly took Shivaay's hand in hers as she continued, Shivaay, for me this is not important. I have lived this throughout my life; to me, my naam, khoon and khandaan doesn't matter. I'm Anika and I will always be Anika only. But, if this is important to you, I'm ready for your sake. All I need from you is a promise. You need to promise me, that we are together in this. No matter what, you will not hide things from me. Please, promise me that you won't go behind my back about this.'
Shivaay looked at Anika and felt small, very small. This girl, right here, she had been through so much in her life without anyone to support her, without a family identity; she had built her own identity, piece by piece. And, today, for him, she was ready to compromise that. He had realized sometime back that one of the main reasons Anika did not want to know her family and background was also because it would simply jeopardize everything she had built to date, her life. It would put a question mark on the life that she had worked so hard on and she would again be that eight year old trying to grapple with reality. But, she was ready to take that risk, for him.
Not trusting himself to speak, he simply pulled her to himself as he let his arms wrap around her. To him, all this didn't matter anymore, only Anika did, and he will never let her down. Anika wrapped her arms around Shivaay. She had given in for Shivaay's sake, for their sake; but she had no idea where this would take them. She knew this one decision of hers would change the dynamics of their relationship, but for better or worse, she had no idea. Only time would tell.

I have been toying with this idea since a long time now but I just didn't wanted to start writing again; it has been a long long time since I have written and I have somewhat lost that touch. But, here I am, I just couldn't help but pen it all down.
