Hey there all the lovely people.
Apologies for being late today.
But I am bit skeptical about today's episode, no I am not going to rant OTT but still odd things are more likely to stay in my mind longer.
The way kanak's life has been overhauled is beyond me. Married and boom there goes her life from being her owns to be a putty in some one else's hand. She can't dress, talk as per her wishes. And now she is given a new name -- and it's very lightly said in a few days you will get used to it.
I know it's a tv fiction show, I shouldn't take it to heart, but still the odds hurt that it still sucks to be a girl. And how her life takes 360 degree turn. Her name is not changed but as for them they have kept a new one. Irony much.
Moving on to the episode.
Every day may not be good but there is good in every day. It's the play of life that intrigues the beginning to a new day.
Kanak walks in an armor for war- no she calls her heavy lehnga mail chain armor. Yet she has real life battles to fight and to come out victorious. She is asked to sit next to ravaan (Uma Shankar) yet do the pooja of Lord. Her worldly Lord her dharm pati is so upset that he doesn't even acknowledge when she sits down. He just asks her name for the sake of pooja, which can't be done without a name. And all hell breaks loose- tongues chomp on without further ado- stubborn- egotistic that along with her family and gotre she hasn't yet told her name to Uma even. Some one suggests to give her a new name. Uma takes suggestions like this every seriously and by the ladies comment of annapurna, golden he comes up with the name Kanak. Kanak is shocked to see it. She accuses him of sorcery and voodoo.. so many assumptions by everyone is all due to lack of proper communication.
Moving on to ulhasna rasm (no idea) about it. It's a way to vent out ones complain in a very poetic manner. K dil ki bharas bhi nikal jaye aur samne wale ko bura bhi na lage. Uma does some really nice lines. I see that he is not upset anymore. He is enjoying this rasm. Does he melt this quickly in Kananks presence or it's a creative glitch in his character. Kanak has nothing to say and she refuses to speak. As she has a lot to say but holds her tongue as she need to play along to get the papers. Enter maasi maa--- seriously this woman is making me run to the woods. Why was a public announcement necessary for suhagraat of Uma Shankar and Kanak?? And asks Palomi to say ulhasna for Kanak to repeat. Massi maa is all knowing, the way she says to payal earlier that she understands that payal longs for the wedding rituals herself and assures her all the same when her husband returns. The women in this family are bound one way or the other, some in the name of dharm and other themselves as they take it upon them to save the world/ that house. Palomi is about to refuse when she sees Uma Shankar looking on to her. She speaks some sentimental lines on an unrequited love, and kanak is forced to repeat. But Kanak didn't do it gracefully, she stuttered as if - no this is not what I want to say. I have a different track to rant on be it positive or negative.
Kanak is sitting in her room, yes that room and bathroom is her retreat from all the mad happenings of that mad house. Uma Shankar enters and she is about to run off in the bathroom. He says there are other places to spend time rather than the bathroom, he opens the curtains which is his place, his area of seclusion where his Shivji's idol stands. Kanak is entranced by the aura of it and Uma is happy to see her pleased. Kanak go to explore the place and finds the open air soothing and sits on the swing happily. ---- I can already imagine this being the love best if KanUm.
Talking to Lord she has some idea and draws a portrait of Shivji. Finding that place was the happiest Kanak has been in that house yet. She spies massi maa and suman and rejects them as being haughty and unhelpful, and calls massi maa typical saas from saas bahu serial. I love this jibe used in the serial. She spots shiv and thinks he might be helpful.
Precap- Kanak is in Uma Shankar's lab, trying to find the papers. Uma Shankar calls her from behind she falls in his arms and entangles in the curtains.
P.S - a major showdown is to be anticipated as Bhabho is gearing up for the 65th anniversary celebration which is in the coming few days. And kanak also has a 7 day mission as per the promo.
