What Uma Shankar did was unforgivable. Even unimaginable. Despite this glaring flaw, as a faithful fan of DABH, it is hard for me not to be drawn towards this show. TSMSP has the nostalgic charm of the original. Pushkar and the colors of Rajasthan, Hanuman gali, familiar characters, the tharo maaro lingo and above all else, the music that weaves a spell around you and permeates your heart! We used to say on the forum that the DABH title track was almost a physical character on the show, bringing it to vibrant life in those early days,' Ooo Diya aur baati' is doing that all over again for me. Pallloo latke at grih Pravesh was a blast from the past, my most beloved village track on DABH!
For now, I am going let this enigma named Uma unravel. Even hard core criminals are given a chance to reform - or so I tell myself as I let my weak self be swept away by the music. He did save her life, ( only to take it away? I ignore that voice too) I want to see how the brave but foolish Kanak who ifancies herself as Hanumaan in Ravan's court, gets out of this mess. She is getting enticed by the lantern light ( another DABH iconic prop) as I am by the music. Lord help us all!
