Seeing the numbers Bahubali raked up, they are willing to watch movies of other actors too even if they are newbies! And that too with a lot more enthusiasm than for any Khan movie.

The way film content is consumed has already been changing over the past several years with digitization, DTH and internet. Khans couldn't stop the footfalls from falling every single year. Just by their exit you expect everything to change overnight??

I guess it will be the final straw as now atleast people turn up on Eid, Diwali and Xmas to watch Khan movies.
All this unless like HW, BW also pulls up its socks, gets good directors and writers and casts people based on suitability for a role rather than contacts.

OK respect your POV but I clearly disagree here. When people have spare holidays, they wouldn't want to sit at home. And the most common pastimes is movies. They will definitely go out to watch movies. And when there are no Khans anymore and when producers know they will not hijack the most important holidays, they will ramp up their production too because then even they could release on holidays and reap the rewards of it. As a result audience will turn up. Whether or not the fan following of newer stars will be as loyal and strong as Khans is debatable, but their interest in watching movies on the big screen? Naah!!

And if you think people won't watch on the big screen anymore, why do you think there is a stable increase in the number of screens? You think the multiplex owners are so short-sighted in their vision? To quote a trade analyst "India is a theatre deficient country. It has been studied that there are just 10 screens per million people, where as in a country like United States, there are 120 screens per million. This is a figure in spite of the fact that India is the world's largest film producing country with more than 1000 films per year and also the no. 1 when it comes to ticket sales, with more than three billion tickets sold each year."

People can say and act like they will, but they won't. It is something that the industry will have to face eventually anyway.

Tanmay Bhatt, Khamba, Kapil types are gonna be the next superstars. There won't be any TV-star-movie-star hierarchy.
