Last minute preparations

"I am very tense at this moment. I have been part of many competitions since my childhood days and have won all of them. In 2001 I had participated in a competition where there were 32 participants from various countries and I won that too. But even that time I was not tense compare to this. Initially I had not taken this show very seriously but then I realized that Sachin has improved a lot and we mentors are also there in the competition. So now I have a lot of expectations from him and when you have expectations you tend to become nervous."

Journey so far

"I knew that it was not a competition among professional singers. We have to help these non singers to become good singers. Initially I did not like the concept and thought who will be my student and all. But when I listened to Sachin's voice I realized that he is good singer and now he is like a family for me. I am going to miss all this riyaz, shooting and everything. It has been a really nice journey for me. I have learnt lots of things through this show. As a singer we used to concentrate only on our singing but now I have started concentrating on my partner Sachin's singing as well. They are actors and they know how to present themselves so I have learnt that from him. Our judges' comments too help a lot."

About Sachin

"He has got a nice voice. He has leant some singing in the past and has worked hard to prove himself. He calls me gurumaiya and sometimes even tells me that I am like his daughter Pari. He is very naughty. As far as singing is concerned he should win but you never know with the public. Varun is also a good singer and has improved a lot. He has reached the final which means he deserved to be there but I would only suggest Sachin not to experiment much with singing. He should just sing naturally.

Last minute preparations

"We started this show with our natural talent and then slowly started performing really well. So far the audience has been with Varun and me and that is why we have reached here. I am having a bad throat right now so I cannot sing. Doctors have advised me not to even talk to anyone but I have to prepare for the finale and have to do riyaz everyday."

Journey so far

"It has been great so far. I am the youngest mentor in the show. It was huge platform for me to prove myself and I hope I have done my job well and achieved what I wanted to. I also hope that I have managed to teach something to Varun."

About Varun

"He is a very dedicated student - a little bit stubborn but sometime it is necessary to be like that to learn some new things in your life. He is very accommodating and at times weird too. If you have seen his performance you will agree that he has immensely improved his singing. Earlier, he was very flat in sur, his pitching was not fine but now he has improved 90%. He has done whatever he could and now everything depends on the audience. Winning and losing hardly matters but I am praying for him. Sachin is a fine singer, an honest human being, and has different range of his own but I think Varun has not been out of the show even once and that is his plus point. I have always told Sachin to give good performances so that Varun also will also perform well. Let's hope people vote for him and shower their love like they have in the past."
