Good morning to you all...

And a very happy Sunday

This is the last second update...

I hope it wasn't as disappointing as the last two were...

The last chapter will wrap everything up...

Before that, have a great read...

CHAPTER-3

Dev determined to set things right between him and his wife Sonakshi, walked out of the house in a hurry... The blurred voice of his mamiji also went unheard to him as he pulled out his car from the parking of his house, and rushed the vehicle to his in-laws' place, where his Sonakshi was...

A 10-minute drive and he was ringing the bells of the Bose House... A determined smile on his face to endure anything that comes his way to bring his Sona back to him...

The door was opened by his father in law who had a frowning look which turned into full-fledged disgust the moment he noticed Dev- "Tum yahan kyu aaye ho?" Bijoy pointed his finger at his son in law...

"Baba... Suniye toh!" Dev wanted to explain.

"Main tumhara baba nahi hoon... Tumhare ghar mein apne baba par unke bete haath uthaate honge... Humare yahan for heaven's sake maa baap ko izzat se pesh aate hain... Aur tum jaise insaan ka baba kehlaane se achha hai ki main kabhi baba banu hi na..." Bijoy was spitting fires...

"I am sorry! Please, mujhe maaf kar deejiye... mujhe Sonakshi se milna hai..." Dev pleaded...

"Meri beti tum jaise aadmi ke saath Hargiz nahi rehna chahti... Bataya usne ki tumne usko get out bola!" Bijoy was further getting angry...

"I am sorry baba, main usko rokne gaya tha... Par wo behosh ho gayi thi..." Dev wanted to explain...

"Achha! Toh tum yahan isliye aaye ho, ki Sonakshi ab ek bechaari, laachaar aurat ho gayi hai... Jo tumhare bachhe ki maa banne wali hai??? Tumhe ek baat bata doon Mr. Dev Dixit... Meri beti ek strong, independent aur able ladki hai... Uske maa-baap zinda hain aur hum usko kabhi get out nahi kahenge... Par Tumko zaroor get out kahenge... GET OUT DEV DIXIT!" Bijoy was yelling at the top of his lungs as he was pushing Dev out of his passage...

Though Bijoy's strength could anyway not match with Dev's... Dev could any moment resist Bijoy's pushes, but he knew aggression never work here... Things would spoil... Bijoy was pushing and Dev let him humiliate him throughout the neighbourhood, with everyone watching the drama... If this is what he deserves to undo the damage he has done, he was ready to be humiliated... Each day!

The next morning the call bell in the Bose House rang, when all sat having their breakfast... As a habit, Bijoy yet again opened the door... His annoyance reached a new level seeing Dev Dixit yet again... With smile on his face, hands folded, he was apologizing yet again...

And yet again, he pushed him out of his house with everyone being the onlookers... It pained Sonakshi to nth level seeing Dev being humiliated this way, but she didn't budge... She was hurt way beyond, and wanted some time...

Bijoy came back and resumed his breakfast like nothing ever happened...

The next morning the bell rang yet again... Sharp at 9 am... Almost expecting Bijoy ran to the door, and opened it to find the one he was expecting... Dev Dixit yet again... He held his hands in apology, just like each day he did... "I am sorry Baba..." he spoke...

He was cut short by Bijoy who nudged him out... Though Asha shouted at her husband from the breakfast table, Bijoy had again pushed Dev out...

And that set the routine... Each day Dev would come in the morning with an apology and each day he was thrown out... Now even Bijoy started feeling tired...

Dev's persistence was weakening the links of Bijoy's resistance for Dev's entrance... On the seventh day, Dev again stood with an apology... Though Bijoy neither smiled, nor did he push Dev out... Just tiredly kept looking at him... As if trying to gauge, if this is his stubbornness or his insisting love that never accepts defeat?

Asha came to the door and called Dev inside... He walked inside, his eyes looking for Sonakshi to see him in the eyes... But she refused to see him... Asha asked him for breakfast, which he refused...

Sitting on the sofa, Asha sat next to Dev's couch, and asked him politely- "Dev babu, Shona abhi aapse bohot naraz hai... Wo nahi maanegi... Aap yahan kyu aate hain roz?"

"Sirf Sonakshi hi toh naraaz nahi hai na? Sona ke baba bhi toh mujhse naraz hain na... Unhe bhi toh manana hai..." Dev told.

"Bijoy bhi Sonakshi jaise hi hain... Wo itni jaldi nahi maanenge..." Asha told him...

"Par main unko manaaye bina nahi jaaunga!" Dev told determinately.

"Toh aap kya chaahte hain Dev Babu?" Asha asked tiredly... Why has she always got stubborn people to deal? Sonakshi, Bijoy and now Dev.

"Main yahi rehkar baba ko manaaunga... Jab tak wo mujhe maaf nahi kar dete tab tak main unki beti se baat bhi nahi karunga... I promise!" Dev told...

Bijoy who was listening carefully while having breakfast stood from his chair- "Ye aadmi yahan nahi rahega Asha!" he was angry again...

"Bijoy! Tum thodi shaant rahoge? Ye ghar mera bhi hai na? Main Dev babu ko apne ghar guest ki tarah bula rahi hoon... Aur agar tumne object kiya toh main samjhoongi ki tumhe meri feelings ki koi parwaah nahi hai..." Asha told calmly to her husband.

"Achhi zabardasti hai..." Bijoy sat down and finished his breakfast...

Sonakshi who was twiddling with her breakfast until now left the plate and was about to walk when she got a reprimanding from her mother- "Shona, chup chaap breakfast complete karo..."

"Maa, mujhse nahi khaaya jaa raha..." Sonakshi was behaving like a kid...

"Kam se kam juice peeyo... Maa banne jaa rahi ho, lekin bachpana khatam nahi ho raha!" Asha ordered. Sonakshi sat down and started taking sips from the glass...

While Asha ordered Dev to join the breakfast, that he complied... Sitting next to Bijoy, his eyes drifted to the weak face of his wife, who clearly looked sick of the early symptoms of pregnancy... Sonakshi made no attempts at having any eyelock with him, and she completed her breakfast and left to change and go for her office...

It was a month later, Bijoy sat in the evening reading his newspaper, complaining about the country... Dev, back from his office sat next to him... unsaid silence ensued between them, like any other day...

For a change Bijoy and Dev were alone... Asha had gone to nearly grocery shop, Sonakshi wasn't back from office, Dadi had gone for a religious event and Saurabh was out for search of new capital for their business...

Dev offering him another glass of cold water, took one himself... He kept looking at his father in law, searching for a moment to start a conversation with him...

"Baba! I am really very sorry!" Dev told for the 100^th time again, always to be snubbed by Bijoy... But today, for a change Bijoy didn't snub him... But he didn't react as well...

"Baba, aap jo kahenge, main karunga... Bas please aap mujhe maaf kar deejiye... Main jaanta hoon, main chaahe kitna bhi ye keh doon ki that slap that I hitted you was accidental and absolutely unintentional; but Baba, it's something that I will regret all my life! I am really sorry baba!" Dev said sitting next to him...

Gaining no response, Dev was on his hunches before Bijoy as he spoke- "Baba, mere papa bohot jaldi guzar gaye they... Main sirf 8 saal ka tha... Aur meri behnein toh aur choti choti thi... Nikki toh sirf 2 saal ki thi... Maine toh apni zindagi shuru bhi nahi ki thi, aur maa ke saamne pahaad jaisi zindagi aur 4 bachho ki zimmedaari thi... Bohot himmat chahiye hoti hai ek akeli aurat ko apne bachho ko paalne ke liye kamaana... Gharon ka jhaadu poncha tak kiya hai unhone taaki humari fees pay kar sakein... Maine suraj ugne se pehle se, ye jaise aap newspaper padhte rehte hain, inko baantne nikaal jaata tha... Raat mein padhta tha... Kitni mehnat ki hai maine aur maa ne paise kamaane ke liye, taaki wo business khol sakein, jiske dum par aaj hum khade hain... Mera zameer gawaah hai iss baat ka ki maine apni richness par kabhi ghamand nahi kiya... Lekin apni mehnat par proud zaroor hoon... Baba, bohot hurt hui thi ye baat jab aapne mamiji se ghusse mein aakar humse ye kaha tha ki hum log paiso ke liye kuch bhi kar sakte hain... Baba, aap sahi keh rahe they, hum jaise log kya kuch nahi karte they paise kamaane ke liye... Lekin imaandaari se... Aapka wo kehna bohot takleef diya, aur shayad usi baat se trigger hokar mera haath uth gaya..." Dev told...

Seeing Bijoy's discomfort, Dev immediately added- "Baba, still nothing justifies my slap, and I am really very sorry!"

Bijoy got up, as he just nodded... He didn't accept his apologies, but didn't negate them either...

Dev got on his feet to see Sonakshi standing there, she looked upset... As if she understood Dev's situation, but still couldn't forgive him for everything...

From that day on, there was an unsaid truce between Dev and Bijoy... Although they didn't behave like some long-lost friends, but they started understanding each other, and they began on normal talking terms... Bijoy would talk to him once in a while about anything general... And all felt normal...

Dev felt a lot at peace... Though he wasn't all together being forgiven, but he was happy with the progress... rest will take time... And he wasn't in any hurry either... He can wait when things get better... It was Sona's turn to be wooed and asked for apologies by Dev, and Dev was ready for it...
