I don't understand why there is such an uproar over Annika's insecurity over Shivaay. SHe thinks Shivaay is a nice guy, who feels bad that he forced her into a marriage she didn't want, and is being what is closest to a best friend she ever had.
She says Dost, he replies Biwi.
She comes from underpriviledged background, she always depended upon herself for everything. The idea of Love and surrendering your heart and being vulnerable to another person is a concept she fears. He is offering to be her companion, her anchor. That's huge.
But did he offer it? He said, everyone needs a saathi, even Superwoman Annika like her. Again did he offer to be it? Half will say Yes, half will say, No. He skirts around being vague instead of just professing his feelings.
There were multiple times where she thought he had feelings for her, but each time he turned back on her, and she has been burned too many times.
In the jungle, he was hurt and breathless and she was worried. And he turned on her, saying "When did this marriage become real to you? If I talk to you nicely, you turn into a wife and sit on my head! Why?"
That had hurt. It brought back all of the ugliness of their marriage for her. He apologized, but the damage was done.
Then when , his mother and Tia cornered Sahil and accused them of stealing the necklace, he had stood by and let it happen. He apologized to Sahil btw, not Annika. Sahil understood Shivaay's motives that day, but Annika was forced to go for Lohri, where Shivaay got shot because of her.
Pinky did a huge number on Annika that night. She blamed Annika for all the bad things that happened to Shivaay, called her bad luck (manhoos) and kicked her out of Shivaay's life. Literally threw her out. And then repeated it again in the streets the next day.
Shivaay came back for her. He keeps saying she is important to him. But why? She needs to know. Is it because no one else knows and understands him like she does? Because if anything happens she has got his back? That could be the role of a best friend too.
Sure Shivaay is now asking for hugs and starting to kiss her , yes. He calls her his Biwi, it feels good, and she is floating around in Cloud 9.
He said her honour is linked to his. That he would never let her fall as long as he was around. Yes, sure, she is no fool, it does look like he was in love with her. Sahil is right.
But for Shivaay to be with her, he has to cross his mother. If the family rejects her because she has no knowledge of her parents and lineage, he will stand by his family.
He always said, NOTHING is more important to him than his family. No. 1 priority. The family depends on him for everything.
If they were to reject her, and he follows her, she would be taking him away from his family. And she knows he loves his family more than anything. Whatever he may say about Sahil and her being his own. Being an Oberoi is his identity. His purpose. He takes care of things. She wouldn't dream of taking him away from that.
She sees Pinky is nowhere near accepting her, although at Holi it looked otherwise for a short time. She is still, "Pinky Aunty" not "Ma". She didn't invite Annika to call her Ma, like she did Tia.
If Pinky creates enough trouble to make Shivaay angry enough to walk out with Annika, without a doubt, Annika will leave Shivaay. She wouldn't dream of taking Shivaay from his family. That was how she fell for him , the way he took care of his family.
So the future looks troubling and difficult. For now, the simple girl with the simple life, has found a man who does crazy mad schemes with her, became her NO.1 priority, almost his No.1 priority, and made her smile for no reason at all. Her dream is coming true.
Will it last. We must wait and watch..😉
