Temporary Relation & Permanent Dosti : NaiRan

Every time Karan calls Naina 'temporary' or says 'baad mein toh tum chali jaogi', it breaks a part in me 💔

Personally, I quite like the fact that Karan wants the relationship to be temporary. It shows how good he is as a person. Lets think of it from his point - He has an infectious disease, he goes through hell because of it, he believes he can never give Naina a fully normal relationship. In the face of it, how can he want her to stay? His wanting Naina to go isn't a sign that he cares less but actually a sign of how much he cares for Naina and wants her to have a happy and normal life. He always says it very matter of factly. He thinks Naina deserves the best and he feels he isn't that. I think its not only a self esteem issue but also that the fact that they can't have a physical relationship. With all this, it makes sense that he wants Naina to leave. I also don't think its a question of trust. He knows she won't leave, but he wants her to leave for the above mentioned reasons

Naina now I think just humours him on this. She knows she is not leaving and she will make him realize that. But its going to be a long road till there. But as you said, their permanent friendship will help them through.

I can somewer understand karan'spov as to why he is stressing that part!!And Sona has described it perfectly above!!Their friendship will make their bond more stronger as you said

i think karan is controlling himself to not attach more with naina because of his health problems

@Sona, awesome take as usual. I think more than anything it will take Karan to realize that he is lovable and not worthless as he has been made to feel all his life.
There is going to be a time when Karan is going to take a step forward in the relationship dept but that is a long ways away.

After Karan a agreed to be permanent friends with naina what I remembered was naina telling one episode that their marriage is based on their friendship and Karan agreed 😆 that means indirectly Karan agreed that their marriage is permanent as their friendship is permanent too😆 and other thing is when naina with her care and protectiveness has made her self a permanent place in karan's life so much so now he can't do without her😆he just migh denying it now but bit in to the future I think he won't be so willing to let her go even it means he has to be bit selfish as in life for some miracle things like naina I want him to be bit selfish for The first time in his life😆 and other thing is even if that come to a point where Karan would be self sacrificing it will be Naina who won't be willing to let him go😆any way by then there's big possibility that sandy's truth is out and Karan is already over his disease with the help of naina😆 well me for one don't want to think too in to the future just gonna enjoy our nairan as they comes with each track😉

Maybe when he's alright, he will start accepting her wholeheartedly. What I meant is that instead of pushing her away, he should allow her to heal him and support her in getting him cured. It's tough, I know. Karan has accepted that his disease cannot be treated, has no solution but since Naina has declared herself as the key to all his problems, I really hope he gets alright awfully soon <3

I totally get you. Every time he says this and they pan to Naina's face, I wince.

But the thing is, everything Naina has told him or done for him relating to his disease is about asking him to think ahead of it or given him options to work despite it. None of them relates to 'curing' it as such. She hasn't even told him if its curable or not. So everything he agrees to do right now, like coming down to eat or participating in the competition, is basically letting her help him the way she wants, as a friend. And for friendship this is enough. However, according to him, its still not enough for a marital relationship. So he is letting her help him but still thinks she should leave as he cannot get cured.

I thought this difference is what is dialogue meant yesterday. Their friendship is permanent because that doesn't require more than what they have and doesn't require him being cured, but the marriage is temporary as that does require things he doesn't think are possible.

I don't know if I am making sense. :P

@Sona, girl you made perfect sense. Only thing is Karan doesn't know that Naina isn't ever going to leave...😆
