Author's Note: - This One Shot is based on the assumption that Neil would peel off Avni's false identity, layer by layer, learning to hate her lies and love her true self at the same time. It is purely out of dark and random imagination.

Under the looming clouds she lay, waiting for their pregnant bellies to burst open and devour the last of her breaths. The pristine crimson of her blood painted the concrete floor in abstract patterns as the consoling silence faded into nothingness.
"Avni!" She heard someone call out to her as the stampeding footsteps rang painfully and echoed in her numbing mind. The voice was deep and booming yet a cry of utter desperation.
Was someone looking for her? Did they notice that she was missing? Did they know what had happened to her? Did they know she had lost?
Her vision blurred for a second before it focused on the tall figure rushing towards her, someone she knew all too well. Even when afraid, he looked sinfully admirable.
Neil skidded to a speeding halt and dropped down to his knees before the woman who was like twisted perfection, now tainted and shattered beyond repair. Thoughtlessly he let his strong arms wrap around her trembling frame as he pulled her into his lap.
He gulped, stark terror gripping his heart at the mere sight of her.
Her flesh was pale, almost white and chalky as if life itself had drained out of her body. Delicate cuts marred her fair beauty as wisps of her clothes hung down in trails. Ribbons of blood had dried up starting scarcely from her neck, encircling her barely clad breasts, decorating her curvaceous waist and vanishing into the hem of her jeans that looked like it had been cut open with a knife. It was sickening how the shards of glass embellishing her hips and thighs glimmered in the moonlight.
He caressed her wild tresses as her lips curled into a subtle hint of a smile.
"Avni." He whispered again, his hot breath fanning her cold yet sweaty face.
She inhaled, her lungs burning with strain as his familiar scent intoxicated her. Even covered in dirt and sweat he had that spicy edge to his masculine scent. Her hands grappled for something, anything that made his warmth real to her frozen soul.
"You came." Her voice was like fingernails against a blackboard.
"Of course I did." He gave her a weak smile, relishing her claws digging into his back. They half-moon crescents they would leave behind would remind him that she had been real, a breathing human he went to wars against yet ended up cherishing her a teeny bit more each day. "I would always come for you, you can't escape."
She choked and he figured that it was meant to be a giggle. "The always is coming to an end. I'll escape and I forbid you from catching me."
Her words elicited a torturous fury, swirling like a merciless tide within his thundering being. This side of her, he resented. She craved death as bad as a blessing.
His insanity warred against hers, a clash of unadulterated rage and godless passion.
She rested her head against his chest, mumbling incoherent secrets to his thrumming heart. Her eyes that once flamed with the fierceness of a tigress, now stared into oblivion.
"What are you doing?" He muttered.
"Counting." She shifted a little and winced. Her fingers tapped against his chest with the rhythm of his heartbeats.
He sighed. Smiling in the face of her death, she was almost unbelievable at this point.
He felt that strong urge to protect her, comfort her, and make promises of a bright future, anything that would save his cradle of unrest and solace from withering away. Oh, but how well did he know the consequences of lying to his liar.
He enveloped her closer, claiming her as his own before death snatched her away forever.
She was his perfection.
Raped and rotten.
"Do I disgust you?" She bit her lip. He looked into her eyes, foraging for life and all he could answer with, was a single tear.
It dripped down his chin and glistened like a diamond upon her cherry lips.
"Neil, don't look at me." Her fingers tickled his face as they softly brushed his eyes close. "I am ugly."
His eyes snapped open, the hazels flashing like embers blown upon. As he leaned his forehead down to hers, he hissed. "No, love, you are perfect."
And that was the last of what the moon witnessed, Neil cradling a lifeless Avni, the second lover he lost to death. And as the sun peaked over the horizon, he vowed to avenge her because this time the gold shielding the dark human heart melted into nothingness.
Author's Note: - I am not sure if this was a delight to read or not for obvious reasons. And sure, this is the worst way to start a string of writings. But let us forgive me for that.
I simply read a post by -PhoenixD- about why this forum is so inactive and typed this out. I am sorry because this is probably not the best response but a little is better than nothing, right?
