Om vs Rudra...I'm Team Om

There are already several posts, but I thought I share my own.

All the characters are variations of grey and even with the little development they are still fascinating. Pinky's insecurity was always there, but it keeps increasing the more he reaches out to someone other than her. Before it was only Omru and now it's Sahil. The reality is she wants an emotional connection with someone that she never had a connection with from the start. There should be a comfort level there to let your guard down and unfortunately for her he is only comfortable being vulnerable with Omru and Sahil. I might be in the minority, but I don't think she was wrong for feeling left out or jealous. The timing wasn't the greatest, but in her defense, it's not like you plan when to feel sad or unwanted. It just happens.

It's no secret that ShivOmRu scenes are my favorite especially during Shivkara ideological battles. There was no holding back or sugarcoating anything and when things got too heated Rudra was there to intervene. Despite their disagreements, there was an understanding for that reason the Omru scene was my favorite scene in the episode.

Om and Rudra's conversation was a classic case of hope vs reality. To Rudra, Shivaay can do no wrong and is akin to a superhero. He wants to believe in the goodness in him and that goodness that was only attributed to him and Om now includes Anika. Let's be honest, his brothers and his family humanized him, but its only after Anika that he started changing for the better. He isn't a callous or as vindictive as he was in the past (I mean he did let Tia walk away with her husband).

Rudra has never hidden his adoration of Anika from the beginning and aside from Daadi and Om, he was the first to openly accept her as family. Naturally, he wants to believe that Shivaay will accept her and his love for her. He is projecting his hope and wishing that his brother accepts his happiness instead of getting in the way of it. Is Shivaay accepting his feelings and letting go of NKK probable? Yes absolutely. Is Shivaay accepting Anika in Rudra's control? No, no matter how much he wants it to happen it's not in his control, but despite that he chooses to believe it will happen.

Whereas, Om's reaction was more realistic. Yes, in the past he was optimistic and believed in love, but certain circumstances changed him at least on the surface. However, the interesting thing about the conversation it wasn't about him or his changed views, but what he expects from Shivaay and sadly it's the worst. He seems aware of the reality of the situation and he knows how Shivaay will react. In the past, he was more passionate about his disagreement, but now it seems like he accepted the fact that Shivaay will be Shivaay Singh Oberoi at the end of the day. Does he want him to accept it too? Yes, but he also understands that NKK is a fabric of Shivaay and it will always be a priority for now. While I do think Rudra's childish exterior is a defense mechanism and there is more than meets the eye, it's also a fact that Om knows a side to Shivaay that Rudra hasn't experienced and isn't familiar with. Om seemed pensive because he already knows the outcome. I'm team Om on this one because harsh reality is always better than false hope 😆 The writers have shown time and time again that Anika is always on the losing end so no expectations from me.

The writer didn't bring back NKK it's was always there even if it was dormant. I agree it was odd time to let the audience know after she took a bullet for him, but it was going to happen eventually. We should all know not to trust Shivaay at this point because he doesn't even know what he wants lol.

I prefer this over romance at this stage in the show. Don't get me wrong, I love Shivika and their chemistry but I'm still not over the forced wedding so the fark and dard games weren't as appealing to me lol. We don't know whether she has forgiven his past cruelty, but I feel bad for her because she keeps letting her guard down not realizing she is still not considered good enough. She is becoming extremely comfortable with him, which is foreshadowing some major heartbreak heading her way. I have no idea where the writers are going with the story, but character-wise she has been way too forgiving so I hope the NKK rejection might be where her forgiveness ends. It's a fictional character, but she deserves so much better and right now he isn't worth her. Maybe she needs to be rejected to regain her strength and let go? Or maybe the writers will finally stop playing favorites and Billu-ji will get his chance to suffer after she finally let's go? We don't need another set or a separation for her to emotional disengage and put her walls back up. Honestly, anything is better than duplicates, villain overload and the usual Oberoi ki barbadi 😆

quoting you from above - and especially the bold! my biggest issue is writer's bias towards shivaay which is apparent in their insta and twitter posts! they have always made anika suffer and billu always walks scott free like nothing has happened! he humiliated her so much in favoring tia and we have not even got one simple sorry or he has spared a thought on how badly he treated her!
i want anika to be strong and pick her self respect up and move on! billu needs to make the efforts now and no the touching her hair, hand, face are not efforts in my dictionary - he needs to give her the respect - PERIOD

My god, where have you been hiding?😆 What a brilliant post!!!!

You have actually written everything here so I'm just sitting here smiling. I like how you've focussed on OmRu and drew the comparisons between how they percieve Shivaay and his love.😳 Definitely agree with Om here. He knows Shivaay so wella nd has always been that brother who sees sense. Seriously, todays episode was so good!!!😆 P.S ShivOmRu are my favourite tooo!!😉

I do think we may get a hurt Annika soon though, especially as she is becomming so gutsy and aware of Shivaay's unsaid feelings. It's going to hurt seeing her in pain.. argh! Annika deserves all the happiness in the world man, such a strong and beautiful character😭 Would love to see her emerge strong though.. and maybe get that fiesty, angsty Annika back

False hope is a strange way of putting it. You make it sound as if Shivaay won't realize he has fallen in love. You make it seem like NKK won't go away forever. Rudra's entire point goes into the future, whereas Omkara is looking at the present. These characters think differently about Shivaay, sure. However, both of them should realize that Shivaay will never let Annika go.

Will Annika get hurt? Knowing CVs, I'm absolutely sure. Annika's strong though. Shivaay can beat her down with the harsh reality, and maybe she'll break, but she'll put herself back together. I think the wedding fiasco is proof of that much. Annika broke down, but then she pepper sprayed Tia in front of Shivaay.

Personally I'm on Team Rudra. I'm hopeful. Shivaay' stupid, but he still cares about Annika. That's an undeniable fact. Even during the ONS MU, Shivaay still took care of Annika. Rudra has faith in Shivaay, and this faith is not misplaced. I feel like your analysis has some sort of bias in it. because you make it seem as if Rudra is blind to Shivaay's wrongdoings. Rudra knows about the wedding fiasco. But Rudra knows that Shivaay does anything for family, and Annika is family.

That's why, I don't just hope, I believe Shivaay will one day love Annika open arms, no strings attached.

I agree, I am like Om in the way I used to believe in true love, but situations changed my perception. I am truly realistic about the expectations now. before Shivika romance, I liked the strong woman Annika is and was hoping her taking Priyanka's place was her own plan since she could not find Shivaay. However in flashback it was shown Shivaay had instructed her on the plan. She did execute what was given to her very well, was hoping for a hospital scene due to what Rudra had stated about Shivaay's actions there, but they probably didn't have time to do it due to NM's tight schedule. Omkara is stating his views based on what Shivaay conveyed to him but that was sometime ago, Shivaay of course needs to bend his own rules in order for Shivika to work out as Ishabaazs for the rest of their times on screen.

Yeah he gets away with everything because the writers always give him a "get out of jail free" card 😆

The bias is obvious but it doesn't help that the FL tears = TRPs lol. The chances of the story going somewhere is very slim, but I agree with you it would be nice if she returned to the way she was. I get love is making her weak, but it's always her losing.

I didn't have any expectations so I enjoyed the episode lol.

It's NKK so there is no way she won't be hurt. Who knows with these writers with their constant flips 😆 Very unlikely, but I would love old Anika back..

First of all, I think you misunderstood me. The false hope was in reference to the writers not Rudra. The writers haven't exactly been doing an amazing job with the story so I don't want to have any expectations of them writing-wise. The harsh reality is its better not have high expectations or expect the story to go anywhere 😆 With respect to Rudra, I think Rudra's hope is justified. In fact, I found his earnestness endearing against Om's seriousness interesting hence the post. It's obvious that NKK and along with his other reservations will disappear.

Will Annika get hurt? Knowing CVs, I'm absolutely sure. Annika's strong though. Shivaay can beat her down with the harsh reality, and maybe she'll break, but she'll put herself back together. Completely agree with you she is tough, but speaking as a viewer it's a bit annoying seeing her beaten down all the time. Again, FL tears = TRPs so it's not like I don't understand the reasoning, but its still annoying lol.

Personally I'm on Team Rudra. I'm hopeful. Shivaay' stupid, but he still cares about Annika. That's an undeniable fact. Even during the ONS MU, Shivaay still took care of Annika. LOL yeah completely agree he is stupid and I don't doubt he cares about her either. Nor do I think Rudra's hope or faith is misplaced. One of the reasons I like the show is the dynamic between the brothers all 3 share a special bond, but there its different between each brother. Omru, Shivkara, and ShivRu's relationship are completely different. I'm not sure why you think referencing Rudra's complete faith in Shivaay equals him being blind to his wrongdoings? He isn't blind to his flaws, but he chooses to see past them and focuses on his goodness. He genuinely believes Shivaay will overcome his issues and accept her.

That's why, I don't just hope, I believe Shivaay will one day love Annika open arms, no strings attached.

I do too, but I just happen to think it will bad for before it becomes good. It took him this long to accept her as his wife so Om's reaction seems more realistic to me.

So true, but too bad the villains and duplicates aren't going anywhere just yet 😆 Internal conflict is much more interesting, but the writers aren't interested in that. So the forced marriage, redemption, and NKK are an afterthought.

It's natural to want to choose a side when there are two to choose from. Om or Rudra?

Both are united though, for Annika. They are just voicing concerns on whether Shivaay will hurt her or love her. He is their brother, and they love and support him, each wants what is best for him, but realizes it is his battle to finish.

Before ShiTia wedding , at Karvachauth we saw him struggle with a decision, his convenience with Tia as wife, or this curious fascination with Annika. He chose Tia.

Now, there's no choice. There's only Annika, no pressure. He can totally exist in this space indefinitely. Dadi's demand for a grandchild will challenge the comfortable balance.

Nowadays Shivaay doesn't say things that incriminate himself, things happen around them that makes issues happen like villain blackmailing etc.

I have hopes like Rudra, that Shivaay had evolved from the last time he said those things to Om. But I agree that Om's caution has to be taken into account too.

Long story short, I think both Om and Rudra are on the same side..😉
