I agree it is ridiculous to call Jatin when the intruder is at Dev's house.
But 'team player'? What kind of 'team player' literally forces his wife to agree to infertility treatment under intense pressure just so that he can bring back his tantrum-throwing mother to the house ? Last I checked, husband and wife were supposed to be a team. Not husband and his mother🤢
Trust and lack of communication are one of the primary reasons relationships fail. During slap gate, Sona shut Dev out completely, despite his repeated attempts to reach out to her- at a most critical time. It was fine that she left and needed to support her father, but shutting out Dev, her husband at such a sensitive time hardly stands for 'team spirit', maturity or presence of mind- especially for days on end. She didn't respond to his calls for days. She left him in the dark.
In contrast, when Sona with best intentions interfered in Neha's marriage (alone, despite being cautioned by Dev and Ishu) and the whole family was blaming her when Neha sent the divorce papers, Dev found her crying in their room; when she asked if he thought she was to blame, he simply held her in a warm embrace and reassured her, saying that he knew she was not responsible- i.e., he was there for her.
Sona didn't share with Dev her opening her business- this despite Dev's status as a successful businessman, and him being her husband! When he came to know, he tried to help her as he would have his own family- without hurting her pride. He tried to pull his weight- that is what team players do. During the Ayaan track, when she first expressed her suspicions, Dev did listen to her and support her- but then he was too easily swayed by Ishu and Ayaan. But when he caught Sona in the middle of her operation, and she expressed her conviction (i.e., communicated) he actually supported her.
Neither of them are flawless. During the infertility track, Dev's mind was clouded and Ishu was at her nasty best with emotional blackmail. Yes- he could have handled that better- but that doesn't negate the fact that Dev loved Sona enough to marry her knowing she would likely never bear him a child. That is not to excuse his mistakes - but Dev's mistakes do not negate Sona's flaws either. Dev had always shared and confided in Sona (that is what team players do) even in S1 where I feel that Sona did not.
