That's how women's portrayal used to be in Indian movies generally esp in 70s and 80s
After izzad is lost she was not fit to live - I think that's the message... Or if she was FL instead of sister, then she marries the rapist
And just an excuse to show more pathos, so hero could get more revenge and more violence can be shown if the sister is also dead... Another problem was serious lack of creativity and originality, if one movie like tha succeeds everybody copies
Audience then were fine with it... Finally no online reviewers or warriors (like yours truly for instance) to point out these things 😆
