I don't think Alia would be offered a role as a romantic lead opposite Aamir anyway. She looks too young. He would look like her grandpa, not just father.

Alia was indeed vying for the role in TOH. Her PR even put out news like this saying Aamir had personally recommended her for the role as she's the best actress now blah blah.. But looks like Adi doesn't like KJo's protegee and refused to consider her. No wonder she's thrashing the role so badly in her rejection speech! "underwritten, underdeveloped and undernourished" seems she is highly pissed off 😆

I agree 100% that younger actresses are not better off working with 50 year old Khans especially someone who looks like a little girl like Alia. But disagree on what TOH will do for Alia. She is the face of nepotism currently in BW and though I bang on her a lot for that, I would be the first to say she does not get credit for what she has achieved which is good acting and hard work. Alia does not get even half the credit of Varun for BO.

There was an article how Aamir chose her for TOG. Aamir has a reputation of being fastidious and very hands on. He went looking for outsiders for Dangal. The report that he wants Alia would give her something KJO has not managed to give, respect, from someone whose known to a PITA and OCD about his films. SRK is too close to KJO for him to give her that with DZ.

Asin was very big in the South. By the time she came to BW, she had BTDT. If Asin had been as ambitious as she was in the south, she would have climbed the ladder higher. As for Anushka, I do think it raised her profile more, Kat in Dhoom 3 was a flowerpot role. But it reinforced that for Aamir she was the best flowerpot and dancer and so she is.

What reputation did Fatima have before Dangal (as an actress)? She sounds like a fine human. As an actor though, it was her first and she shot big. It beat BB as the most watched movie this decade.

Even if Alia does this film it won't really do much for her. She's already climbing the ladder of success. Yeh movie kare nah kare usse koi farek nahi padega.

I loved Anu as Jaggu in PK...she had a major role definitely, not a flowerpot role like Kat in D3

Even Kareena was very good in 3 Idiots and all 3 friends in 3I had equally important roles

even though I dont like Kareena much I liked her in 3 Idiots.

I dont know why all credit goes to Aamir even for an ensemble movie like 3 Idiots? 😕

As for Aloo its good she rejected the role, it would look like Aamir is cradle snatching with her as his heroine...even the thought of their romantic scenes is sickening 🤢
