Homophobic Govt reason behind Manoj not winning for Aligarh

Agreed!! I feel super bad that aligrah and Hooda didn't get any recognition!!!
Even if not a award then atleast they could've given them a special mention or something!!

This year the jury was a sham hence sham awards.

This govt is not homophobic..It is quite sensitive to LGBT community and their needs..

Large sections of our society are still homophobic man! There are so many out there who fear coming out because of how messed up the laws are. Haven't seen Aligarh but if I'm not wrong Manoj was on the list of every major critic out there when it came to their favorite performances of the year. The guy from whatever I have come across got amazing reviews for Aligarh. Then again I don't put NA on some pedestal so him not getting one doesn't take away anything from his brilliant performance. I'm glad though that the "sold out popular awards" did acknowledge the guy.
