Karan & Naina: 'Friend' ;)

NaiRan are so cute man!! Like adorable vale cute!! The entire scene, which was split between yesterday and today for god knows what reason, was classic NaiRan. A mix of depth, understanding, light banter and layers of meaning.

Pehle toh, I love how varied the settings for NaiRan scenes are. Ghar ka koi kona choda hai inhone ab tak? 😆I'm not complaining though. Abhi se ye haal hai toh once they fall in love, think of all the nooks and corners they will romance in?😉

The scene was so aesthetically shot!! Naina on the terrace, her dupatta flying off and landing on Karan, he looks up, eyelock and then he goes to return it. They were both slightly awkward. It was kinda cute. Then Karan takes the initiative to talk to her and thank her about Nirmala. He mentioned that even he hadn't thought of it, being caught up in his own thing. I love this about Karan. He recognizes his shortcomings. That he imagines he has more than they actually are is a different question. But he is self aware. Very few Indian TV heroes are.

Naina, smart that she is, maaroes mauke pe chauka and says that they can be friends on this at least. You go girl! Koi chance nahi chodti yeh ladki.😆 Even Karan can't resist her now. He agrees. And Naina's face lit up. And then he topped it by saying they were only friends till the time she was here. Yesterday, I didn't quite understand this. But today I do. And I admire Karan for it.

Today he continues by saying that she would need time to tell her family that his disease was infectious and then he ruefully says that even though his family knows, they don't understand. Aww Karan!🥺 He really has suffered all these years. He says she can stay till she makes them understand. You have to see where Karan is coming from. He is the one who has faced the disease, he knows what it is and it can spread. He lives through that hell everyday. Then how can he make Naina go through the same purgatory? How can he ruin her life like that? He knows she is hopeful about life but he thinks she is romanticizing it. And maybe she is doing it a little. So he wants to keep it real. He genuinely believes they have no future. That is why he goes on to say that they have no rishta and they will stay in their limits etc etc. It is this belief that Naina will challenge.

Naina, on the other hand, is so happy with her friendship that she doesn't care. How cutely does she tease him about saat janmo ka rishta and friendship ka offer document. 😆 She does say that they will take things lightly once in a while and that they will not hide anything from each other. So poignant! And Karan agrees. I cannot explain the eyelock that happened at this point. Karan looked amused and almost happy. They then shake on it with his umbrella. This chaata is our favourite thing I tell you!

How cute was it when they changed how their names were saved in each others' phone! And the things they thought after that were so so so cute that I really wanted to pull their cheeks! Naina thinks, "Baaki sab toh theek hai, par thoda kam bolta hai. Kahin main aur iska chaata hi na sirf baaten karte rahen." And Karan thinks, "Baaki sab toh theek hai, par thoda zada bolti hai. Kahin itni saari dawayion mein ek sar dard ki goli na add ho jaye." AWWW! BABIES ARE SO CUTE THAT I CAN"T EVEN...

How many of you loved Sandhya's face when Karan came down to eat? Take that Maasi Ma. Aapka Karan toh haat se gaya!

So now our beautiful couple is finally 'Friends'. Aur phir jab Shahrukh Khan ne kaha hai ki "Pyaar Dosti Hai" then it can't be too long right? 😉

P.S. - How pretty does our NaiRan AT look now! So beautiful! Also, its probably the only AT where the third wheel between the couple has got prime importance in an AT. 🤣No points for guessing who or what that third wheel is. 😉

I love how Naina asked him to always b truthful n not to hide anything and he accepted it shows that there s a lot of progress in their relationship.. they now have both trust n friendship between them and love wil eventually happen n it wil b very deep one..

But I was a bit confused with Naina telling Karan that they should always be honest with each other because I don't think she is being completely honest with him. I know its not the right time for her to tell him Vishal's opinion but she is hiding things and I don't know how Karan will take it when it comes out. Sandy will probably manipulate it as if she was hiding things.

I think Karan knows about his disease. He did mention that it was tough to stay positive for him and stuff. Or if he does not, then Naina has no idea that Karan does not know. It is reasonable for her to assume that Karan knows everything that Vishal is telling her. A lot of times people theoretically know what is wrong with them but can't get over it without somebody's help.

Thank you for recapping the conversation Sona, I missed the first part and was lost consequently. You are right, the flow was broken hence the scene felt a bit disconnected.

Anyways, we both love the aesthetics..eh?😆 I was saying the same thing yesterday- balcony, lights, chaandni raat, dupatta, blue shades..wah..wah! I am a fan of this director.

Naina is indeed romanticizing their relationship but we do need some 'amour' in this already difficult relationship. Problem is, Naina feels she can set everything right on her own and is day-dreaming. Whereas Karan feels that she will leave one day, so why is she even bothering?And yeah, Karan do stock pain-killers after all you are married now, pain-killers will become your new BFF.😆
