JNDSD~My take~ Monday 3.4.17~ The best man.. deja vu

Quite simply the grooms personal attendant, who carries out important duties from the grooms side during the wedding celebrations. Traditionally the best man is someone close to the groom, a close friend or brother. For Ravish to be the best man is highly apt , to me. He may not be Atharvs friend but certainly is related to the groom in terms of blood ties, they share the same father. Ravish also has a mutually accepted understanding with the bride. He boasts of many roles with Vividha, her ex-husband, also her present husband to be's brother. But most of all he is a sincere friend to Vividha..the bride in waiting.

After six months.. it's the best man who preens himself ready to put his best foot forward as the best man. It's all about juggling balls in the air all to do with the big wedding. The most important part of his duty is to manage the memory of the groom! low and behold Atharv the groom rings! gets into a muddle about which confectionary to choose out of the two for the occasion? Both have a laugh and leg pulling happens between the groom and the best man .It's the best man who shows the groom a way out.. Atharv should choose the confectionary Vividha likes best. Such irony ,the sweet meat that Vividha chooses for her big day out of the two, is symbolic of her choice of her groom.. Atharv orRavish? Thus Ravish tells him to bring both sweet meats.Ravish's priority is to get the groom on time for the marriage! Atharv has history of not making it on time before too! Atharv jests he'll be there! but it'll be the bride who'll take ages! Though she is pretty enough! doesn't need much. Ravish chips in on the brides behalf, ah! but it's her day today !to be decked in red! Ravish , refers to the color red, that of passion ,love! Atharv gives his best man the order of getting the bride to the temple and they'll meet there.Ravish considers it an honor to bring the bride! His friend Vividha.. and says many thanks to Atharv, who leaves the shop! with a smug smile as he tells Ravish, he's on his way now! here comes the groom Harley Davidson style, on his bike vroom! helmet and all.. zooming all the way to his love!

This bride sits all ornate and adorned ,but the jewel that sparkles most is Vividha's smile. The animated glow on her face comes from her heart that holds the source of true love for Atharv! Uma calls her daughter the prettiest bride in the world. Vividha has to be that.Today shortly the man she loved and suffered many ups and downs for, will finally become her husband. Some innuendoes to the past irony, Vividha best not keep the groom waiting lest he marries someone else! Vividha retorts if he wants to marry her, than Atharv will have to wait for her. Her sister Guddi lowers herself as she bedecks Vividha's ankles with anklet.. her humbled love and service for her beloved older sister Vividha.

Here comes the bride.. backed by the women of both households. It's action replay.. he received Vividha four years ago to as she sailed down the stairs with stars in her eyes.. taking small steps, dressed in red like now waiting to marry Atharv.. such a twist of fate, in place of the absent Atharv, he Ravish was asked by Vividha to save her day. Ravish did so, he recalls with overwhelming saddness in his eyes. In the name of what he felt for her. He draws strength from her happy face. His love for her never diminished but transformed into something more meaningful. Yes Vividha gave him the rich experience of fatherhood.. the empowering feeling that he Ravish the soldier, can make a difference to people's lives! Vividha gets the attention a bride should get. Her son Madhav!the grooms page boy craves attention too..ends up wearing his shoes on the wrong feet..like trying to figure out who to call father, Ravish or Atharv? Hopefully after his mother marries the absentminded grouch today he'll know who to call dad? It's not about who lives with his mum.. his chachu Ravish did too, and now his mum will live with Atharv.. but now Madhav actually sees his parents getting married..not every kid does! May be his mum will tell him, marriage is about two people loving each other.. that this absentminded grouch is the one man, his mum loves..

Traditional for the bride to wait for the groom on holy ground for marriage to be solemnized. So Vividha too waits. Atharv vrooms! his way to the temple venue. The priest alerts all, that the auspicious hour is here. Ravish shows signs of stress, checks his watch, is history going to repeat itself?? Still no sign of him all gathered appear anxious A seated Vividha cranks her neck backwards.. dear god..not again! phew! This time big bro' makes it..Vividha breathes a sigh of relief.. trust him to nearly kill her. Atharv reaches the temple.. holding two bags of shopping.Gingerly he mutters an apology. The best man accosts him late as usual. Blas Atharv replies people treat him like an errand boy and lumber him with jobs.. the priest repeats auspicious hour is passing by groom to come forward!.. and the groom! Ravish walks down the aisle every face smiles at him.. seems like a set up? Has Atharv given Ravish yet another chance to be with Vividha for Madhav's sake?? But Ravish stops beside Sujata who gives the groom? or the best man a bag?once receivedRavish turns around and heads towards a sheepish looking Atharv.. Ravish gives him the bag collected from Sujata and takes the bags Atharv with an urgency in his voice.. get changed. Did Atharv plan this guessing the groom game? Prank or was there more to this?

Here comes the groom the real one, Atharv! Ravish is overwhelmed to see his older brother. The final touch to Atharv's groom image is done by Ravish. The younger brother puts the turban, symbolic of the highest point of one's body, the head. It's his utmost respect that Ravish honors his older brother with. The scene corresponds with Guddi putting anklet around her older sister's feet. So both Atharv and Vividha are shown to receive honor and respect from their younger siblings.

Imposing and impressive they both walk down the aisle side by side, groom and best man, two brothers to join the bride with a very cranked neck. Ravish drops Atharv where Vividha waits. Atharv almost chuckles as he looks down into her almost fiery eyes.. her stolen gaze protests about his late arrival and he stares down with a smirk. Well! I got here in time didn't I ?looks like the old lighthearted Atharv is back on the scene just as he used to be.. he warns every it's about time that he got married and no more interruptions thank you very much! He hastily sits , turns to his beloved,he was dying to see her , no one let him till now, humm she looks wicked!! Vividha smiles coyly.. he reminds her how they tried to get married in a temple. This means his memory has returned completely.

The marriage rituals happen and the way both Atharv and Vividha respond speaks to all present that this is a marriage of two souls forged into one by the strong bond of love. As he puts the sacred symbols of marriage ,the Mangalsutra and the vermillion, Vividha, vows to safeguard all the years of his life. The vermillion of his name in her hair parting means for Vividha that her husband from now on is revered as a god to her. They circumambulate and go through the holy vows which their soul senses they both already went through and kept, all through the years of their trials and tribulations. Today their love has stood the test of time. In the spirit of love with the sacred fire as the pure witness, before the presence of the deities they receive blessings from all who love them on earth. For Ravish it is a day of fulfillment too.For love is to be the abundant giver! Today in Atharv and Vividha's marriage Ravish is the blessed one who will receive their love in abundance.. As for Vividha and Atharv all else for the minute seem to be in oblivion only the two of them through their visual exchanges shower each other with immense attained love today all they fought for seems worth it.. their hearts sing from the same song sheet depart not from my heart my beloved ! as Vividha reaches out for his hand..For what they shared years ago today has the approval of both god and man! .hamlet53 4.4.17

Lovely episode all the world loves lovers! nothing like true love ending in marriage. It's all well that ends well. Overall I enjoyed the tongue in cheek side of Atharv..in fact their swooning over each other during the ceremony was a treat to watch. Of course the next track seems to underway right through the circumambulations, some dame in a bridal look, whose bride is she? Why was she shown during Vitharv's marriage ceremony? Precap shows her running in her bridal getup, hounded by rough blokes.. meeting with headon collision with a white car!

Dear Hammie, Lovely and brilliant write up as usual. Indeed nothing like true lovers uniting. i started on this story around Dec and Vividha prompted me to catch up on her and Atharv's past. So having seen them thru their dreams and trials this ViTharv union is one happy moment. Madhav is one of those lucky fellow getting to witness his parents wedding :) Also happy to see the families are together and have made peace with their past and present.
Wish the writers had not skipped thru the 6 months and delved into the journey culminating to the wedding, but guessing they have better drama in mind with this short leap.

Appreciate you taking time out to provide us your beautiful takes Hammie. And thank you.

Love,
Vish

btw, not sure if you had the time to catch up on the wedding celebration thread ? Posting the link here.
