So much for beyhad love. Then the reason why Arjun is not leaving Maya came out. It's not of love, he is just trapped. Love or not noone would want to live in the guilt of the death of someone. Arjun can't see Maya dying BC of him & any normal person will do that.

So Arjun and Jhanvi are surely out of suspect list of all murders. If Arjun could kill he could have not tolerated Maya. So he is not courageous enough. Maya is in high stage of mental illness, she need medical help, even if she is to be admitted to asylum that is a better way rather than Arjun harming himself and make Maya more mad. Now I feel even arjun may become insane living with Maya. It is surely not practical for Arjun, Jhanvi or anyone to cure Maya. Only a doctor can help. It is ridiculous for them to show Maya not getting any medical help and she keeps playing with everyone's life.

I agree with Kushal on this it is scary to have a life partner like Maya. She is way too psycho. Love can't cure a psycho lover it will make the other person insane too

Honey, there are other ways in which a person can be cured, I did psychology and I can tell you that Maya is not that psycho as you said. I agree it's all new for you since you probably never bumped into such person but Maya can definitely be healed with love and psychologists.

She doesn't need to go to mental asylum for that, seriously just because Maya has some mental issues, it's not fair to say that she has to go there. And btw, saying that Maya is in high stage of mental illness seems exaggerated because there are other more mental illness like split personalities, bipolar disorders which are more of high level.

What you said as not practical for Janvi or Arjun is infact scientifically possible. Maya has Post traumatic stress because of child abuse and at that time she didnt get any help for that. I know she took antidepressants which can be a treatment but she never received supplementary or external treatment that is love. Maya craves for love. So saying that she has to go to mental hospital to get medicines will never solve the problem.

She needs counselling, a psychiatrist and someone who would love her unconditionally. Arjun is weak, he can never handle a girl like Maya nor cure her. Arjun will become insane with Maya, the word you used is a bit too heavy. Maybe that's the price he has to pay for marrying Maya just for money
Anyway,to tackle Maya mental problem, they need to address the root of the problems itself which is

1. Child abuse: Ashwin abused Maya when she was a kid so out of self defense, is it fair for Maya to kill him out of self defense? ( if ever maya is the killer) And I don't see anything "psycho" in that.(yet)

2. Her craving for love : As we all know Maya always craved for selfless unconditional love. She thought Arjun loved her but no.
She did try to be a good wife initially, her intentions were good( NOT like arjun who clearly married her for money), but what happened next? Her mother in law was being a pain, who would tolerate that? Saanjh was still after Arjun ( and I don;t have to mention the disgusting holi dance, her trying to kill her bff etc) This made Maya furious/angry(who wouldn't) and her insecurities grown. Is that crazy? She was all broken.

3. Her obsession with Arjun, I don't think that the fact that Maya became obsessed with Arjun destroyed their relationship. I think that the fact that Arjun fall out of love made Maya obsessed. I don;t think if Arjun loved her unconditionally, that would not have happened. And Arjun knew Maya past, so he should have been careful with Maya and building her heart instead of breaking it. But no he made her feel insecure and all that!
(and now he is playing the victim card lol)

TM, so is Maya really playing with everyone's life or it;s the contrary? Maya seems strong but underneath there is a very sensitive soul who maybe did some things because of situations and lack of people loving her. Can we really blame? Food for thought

Ah, I know people in Indian are not used to see such characters, they like to see bubbly devi characters like Saanjh and for them people like Maya should be sent to mental hospital and chained and get electric shocks.

I always knew Arjun was not a murderer and Maya is the killer and now it's pretty clear for me. Arjun now is feeling sick and congested in the relationship and I really feel so bad for him. He's completely trapped in this relationship, She doesn't even allow him to eat and sleep as per his wish.

Sorry honey if you studied psychology I have studied psychiatry & my views are based on my observation. How much ever you justify the cause, the fact is Maya shows symptoms of advanced mental illness. She needs treatment & medicine, no amount of counselling can cure her because she is sick for long time & it is becoming worse day by day.

And what is to be so offended about mental asylum. People of advanced mental illness are treated there and qualified psychiatrists work there. There is no heavy word used when I say with Maya Arjun will become insane he is becoming already or else he won't slit his throat. Also how insensitive is for you to say that is price for Arjun. If he married her for money he would have let her die yesterday.

What ever I have better work to do than to get into an illogical argument with people who can't even see how mentally sick Maya is, just making all sort of argument to justify a character.

1 more thing if not for a TV show, not 1 person will live with a person like Maya. All these cases are treated in asylums & noone is dev and Devi in real life to live a suffocated life to treat a mental patient.

If you studied psychiatry, then we can have a lovely fruitful debate on that :)
Maybe she needs both, medcine and counselling work hand in hand. And I don't think I'm being insensitive, I am trying to understand Maya.
No but the fact that people and indian shows treat mental hospitals as such a dirty place and the stigma around it. I'm not justfying her character, just stating what made her sick in the first place that is solving the roots of the problem.
@bold: I never said that 😆

I don't think I saw a single post saying that a mental hospital is a dirty place...Or that there is any stigma around it...From those who think Maya needs medical help...

Yes, that was the case till a couple of decades back, but like all other views, here too, the thought process is changing very rapidly for the better. Dipika Padukone opening up about her mental depression n society accepting it with open arms is a classic example.

A mental hospital is like any other hospital, where an ill patient is treated...Period. No ifs n buts about it. N anybody suffering from a mental illness needs to be treated asap.

Love n support of family members are important too, but after/along with medical help...Just the way family members help a patient to recover after a major surgery...Or a cancer patient after a chemotherapy session...Do we say that the love of a family member can cure a cancer patient without medical intervention?!?!?...Then how can we say the same for a mentally ill person??😲

On the contrary, I see many members (supporting n justifying Maaya''s ill deeds due to her illness) sound reluctant that Maaya should undergo an intensive treatment...Pray tell me, why????

Esp those, who claim to be from the medical field...😆😆

@green
There is still stigma around mental illness and mental hospitals. There are still Indian soaps where they show that mental hospital is a bad place. They still portray that. But you are right when you say that it should be like any other hospital but is that the case really?

Maybe she needs both, medcine and counselling work hand in hand

Thank you. That's what I was try to say 👍🏼 @red

@blue: Again, I didn't say I am supoorting Maya. Just saying that to solve her problem we need to solve the roots of the problem. Esp those who are from the medical field knows that we can alleviate the symptoms of mental illness with medicines but we can never cure it completely unless we tackle the origin of the problem itself.

Suppose a person got cancer due to work in radiation, yes we give that person chemotherapy to cure the cancer but at the same time, we stop the person from going back to work in radiation which was the origin of the problem itself.
