Hi,
Before proceeding with my thoughts, I would like to pen down a couple of my observation's.
1. Arjun was named so for a purpose.
1a) Arjun falling down from the pinnacle.
2. Saanjh ka galat Rasta.
3. Vandana welcoming the person who ushered in happiness to their bleak house.
4. Arjun breaking the ghat bandhan and rushing to Sanjh only to return back to Maya who was waiting.
A regular breakfast table with a nagging/chattering wife and a bored husband. How mundane! Ordinary it looks but things cannot be ordinary or mundane when it is Maya/Arjun. It takes a turn for worse when Arjun slits his throat- ofc in his imagination. Once awake from his day dream he plots to escape from la la land of Maya.
The augury for change begins here. Arjun has reached a saturation point. He wants Nay NEEDS to escape from the suffocating and cloying presence of Maya, even 2 days without her is sheer HEAVEN!! He plans on escape, escape at any cost...
Switch to the office...
Arjun the CEO is gloating at how easily he fooled Maya when in walks Maya and turns the table on him. Once again he is a trapped animal. But he needs his freedom and that freedom is coming but at a cost!!
Let's look at the scenario... Maya comes into the office... how is she dressed?? It's not her regular off white suits nor is it of any other plain shade, she is dressed in pinstripe ( a suit long associated with ultimate power and authority). She walks in and power deserts Arjun.
Coming back after a hiatus of 3 years, Maya proceeds to create a space for herself not in her own cabin, not outside but IN Arjun's cabin!! She proceeds to make a space for herself in Arjun's cabin.
She entered and took away the aura of power, she enters his cabin and walks away with the pen -- Pen which draws the squiggly lines of authority. After a pause, she re-enters and walks away with Buddha, known for calm and wisdom. After a pause, Maya enters again ostensibly for her coffee mug and chooses the shoot site, thus robbing Arjun of decision-making ability. Within few seconds, Maya comes again, she takes vibrantly green plants - the hope of life and growth and very importantly Maya says, ' It's for POSITIVITY'. Then She sends the peon with the pics to hang on her walls, interestingly, Maya does not choose the stark, foggy/ misty gnarled tree portrait rather she opts for a meadow full of flowers upon which the sun shines bright and clear dispelling the darkness...
Arjun's heady rush had to dissipate, the links of power, status, and glory that was keeping him shackled had to be weakened or taken away for Arjun to finally throw off the hallucinogenic power of Maya. With her entry into the office, Maya has begun to undercut and undermine, Arjun's power and authority... but at the same time, this move is bringing back the happiness that was long buried to Maya..But on enterting the office Maya said, " in this 3 years, many things have changed but One things has not changed, that's MAYA" - If things do not change, how will Maya regain her paradise, for paradise to be regained, time has to change!! and time aka Samay has come!
After picking up her coffee mug, Maya walks into her cabin and is confronted by a heart shaped bouquet of roses, which sends her into transports of joy as she assumes that it was her hubby who sent it, She rushes back to her irked patidev and thanks him prettily. Maya walks back into her cabin and is confronted by her favorite brand of chocolates, once again overflowing with love, Maya rushes back to her doubly irked husband and thanks him again!! Arjun has had enough, he assumes Maya bought it herself and is pretending to pass it off as HIS presents!!
Right now, Arjun thinks Maya is pretending to send herself the token of love. Though Arjun's perception of Maya's thought process is correct, his conclusions are wrong. When Samay starts his work on Maya, Arjun will not believe it! He has seen what Maya can do, Maya has done and he will be lulled into the false sense of truth by his prejudiced perception. Maya's case will not find any takers since the Sharma's and Mathur's have suffered at the hands of Maya, they know how she plays the game. Moreover, they are and will be in Samay's corner, having fed by HIS perception of truth.Thus, Maya will have to battle Samay alone just as the Pandit told her too!.
Another point to be observed here is both Arjun and Maya consumed the chocolate, as such it will be Samay's truth that will triumph.
A frustrated husband is brooding alone on his swivel chair right under his wife, Maya's photo. He is a prisoner who has been confined within a box by his jailor wife. The door opens, Irritated Arjun shouts, throwing the bridal train at the person and confronts his freedom.
Here I must say, a BIG KUDOS to the creative director who thought of the scene!!! Subtle & Brilliant!!
The person removes the bridal train. She is Sanjh!! Yes, She is Sanjh NOT Dusky!!! Why am I saying this? Dusky is the friend of Arjun, one who would walk the whole earth for his happiness but the person who has entered is the emissary of Samay!!, the key that is going to release Arjun from Maya's bondage but at the same time is going to enslave Arjun in HIS shackles.
Note what Sanjh carries, a copy of TIMES!! What is Time but Samay?? Here begins, Sanjh's galat rasta phase. Sanjh has been deftly manipulated into homing in for Arjun. She thinks her actions are her own but is unaware of the master player who is using her for his own ends. Sanjh will believe that she is uncovering the truth of Maya and She WILL uncover the truth of Maya but it will not be the whole truth!! This is where ARJUN will come into play. He will uncover the WHOLE truth!! Will this lead him to his death to be saved by Dusky?
Speculations
Throughout the marriage series, there was always a hint of a fourth person!! Vandana hitting the speeding car, leading to the accident. Ashwin pointing out something desperately at the dying moment. Jhanvi's sudden fear AFTER calling Maya to the rundown warehouse - was it Samay?
He looks like a blast from the past, has a cool brain, is maverick. Did he plant himself in Sanjh's life? He could have known about Sanjh if he was a stalker of Maya since Sanjh was intrinsically linked with Arjun. Ashwin and Jhanvi would be shocked if they spotted Samay especially if things ended badly for him courtesy Maya!!
All said and done, it would definitely be a tame conclusion if Samay turns out to be the Mr.X!!
